DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation. NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY for Driver Seat: Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 5 clamps. for Passenger Seat: Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the clamp. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt assembly.

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH Check the buckle switch. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.   1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut. Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) NOTE: Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding parts of the front seat adjuster. for Driver Seat: Connect the 3 connectors and attach the 5 clamps. for Passenger Seat: Connect the 2 connectors and attach the clamp.

Disconnect the tension reducer connector labeled B. w/ Pre-collision system: Disconnect the pre-collision connector labeled C. Remove the 2 bolts and seat belt.

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY CAUTION: Do not disassemble the retractor. Before installing the seat belt, check the ELR. When the inclination of the retractor is 15° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor. When the inclination of the retractor is over 45°, check that the belt locks. If the operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assembly. Check the tension reducer operation. CAUTION: Do not apply battery voltage to the pretensioner connector. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (IG) of the tension reducer connector and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (L). Check that an operating sound is heard when the magnetized solenoid is attracting the plunger. Pull out the seat belt and let it retract. Listen to the operating sound. Pull out the seat belt again, disconnect the battery's negative (-) lead and let it retract. Listen to the operating sound again and check that the operating sound volume has increased. If the result is not as specified, replace the outer belt assembly. for Passenger's Seat only: Check the fastening function of the child restraint system. NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt installed. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically start to retract. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again. If the operation is not as specified, replace the belt assembly.

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY NOTE: When installing the retractor, make sure the vehicle's claws (labeled "a" in the illustration) only contact the installation areas of the retractor. Align the vehicle's claws with the seat belt retractor positioning holes. Install the seat belt with the 2 bolts. First install the upper bolt, and then install the lower bolt. Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) for bolt A Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) for bolt B Connect the pretensioner connector labeled A, as shown in the illustration. Connect the tension reducer connector labeled B. w/ Pre-collision system: Connect the pre-collision connector labeled C. Install the shoulder anchor to the shoulder belt anchor adjuster with the nut. Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)
  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE Install the belt guide with the 2 screws. NOTE: Make sure the belt is not pinched as this may damage the belt.

  2. INSTALL HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR MOTOR Insert the motor into the adjuster as shown in the illustration. Install the connector.

Disengage the 5 claws and remove the package tray trim panel assembly. for Ottoman: Using a molding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 belt guides. Disengage the 2 clips and raise the front portion of the package tray trim panel assembly. Pass the 2 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.

  1. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY CENTER Align the seat belt positioning hole with the claw. Temporarily install the outer belt with the 2 bolts. Tighten the rear side bolt first, then the front side bolt to install the outer belt. Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) for rear bolt 7.5 N*m (77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) for front bolt
  2. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY LH Insert the claw of the retractor (a) into the hole.
