SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. POWER SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The position of the power adjustable shoulder belt anchor can be adjusted by operating the control switch, which is located on the door trim.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT Components Function Power Seat Switch (for Driver Side) When the SET switch and memory switch are pressed simultaneously, the SET and M1, M2 or M3 switch signals are input to the front door ECU LH and the driver side shoulder belt anchor position is recorded. Power Seat Switch (for Passenger Side) When the SET switch and memory switch are pressed simultaneously, the SET and M1, M2 or M3 switch signals are input to the front door ECU RH and the passenger side shoulder belt anchor position is recorded. Seat Memory Switch (for Driver Side) When a memory switch is pressed, the M1, M2 or M3 switch signal is input to the front door ECU LH and the driver side shoulder belt anchor position changes according to memory. Seat Memory Switch (for Passenger Side) When a memory switch is pressed, the M1, M2 or M3 switch signal is input to the front door ECU RH and the passenger side shoulder belt anchor position changes according to memory. Shoulder Belt Anchor LH Upon receiving signals from the rear junction block ECU, the motor operates and the driver side shoulder belt anchor position moves up and down. Shoulder Belt Anchor RH Upon receiving signals from the rear junction block ECU, the motor operates and the passenger side shoulder belt anchor position moves up and down. Shoulder Belt Anchorage Switch LH The anchor adjustment signal is input to the front door ECU LH by operating this switch and the driver side shoulder belt anchor position is adjusted. Shoulder Belt Anchorage Switch RH The anchor adjustment signal is input to the front door ECU RH by operating this switch and the passenger side shoulder belt anchor position is adjusted.
  3. POWER SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE FUNCTION The shoulder belt anchorage switch is located on the front door trim. Using the switch, the shoulder belt anchor position can be adjusted electronically. The shoulder belt anchor position linked with seat memory system and steering memory system can also be recorded in memory.

OPERATION CHECK

  1. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE FUNCTION Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch and check that the shoulder belt anchor slides up or down in response to the switch operation.
  2. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE Check the PTC operation inside the power seat motor. NOTE: Perform this inspection with the parts installed to the vehicle. Move the shoulder belt anchor to the uppermost or lowermost position, and wait approximately 60 seconds. Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch in the same direction, and measure the time required before the current is cut (the motor operating sound stops). Standard: 12 to 14 seconds Release the switch, wait approximately 60 seconds, and then operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch in the opposite direction and check that the motor operates.
  3. CHECK MEMORY AND RESTORING OPERATION HINT: While pressing the SET switch, if 2 or more of the M1, M2 and M3 switches are pressed simultaneously, the anchor position is not recorded. If one of the M1, M2 and M3 switches is not pressed within 3 seconds of the SET switch being pressed, the anchor position is not recorded. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch, and move the shoulder belt anchor to the uppermost position. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M1 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M1 switch is pressed within 3 seconds. Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch and move the shoulder belt anchor out of the uppermost position. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M2 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M2 switch is pressed within 3 seconds. Operate the shoulder belt anchorage switch, and move the shoulder belt anchor to the lowermost position. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor position is memorized when the M3 and SET switches of the seat memory switch are pressed and held, or the SET switch is pressed and then the M3 switch is pressed within 3 seconds. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the uppermost position (memorized position) when the M1 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves out of the uppermost position (memorized position) when the M2 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the lowermost position (memorized position) when the M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed. After the engine switch is turned off and the driver side door or front passenger side door is opened, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed within 180 seconds. After the engine switch is turned off and the driver side door is opened and then closed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed within approximately 60 seconds. After the engine switch is turned on (IG) and the shift lever is moved to P, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the shoulder belt anchor moves into the memorized position when the M1, M2 or M3 switch of the seat memory switch is pressed.
  4. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION AUTOMATIC MEMORY CALL OPERATION INSPECTION With the recognition code of the transmitter registered in the memory system, perform an entry unlock or wireless unlock operation. Open the driver door and check that the front seat, front seat belt anchor, steering wheel and outer rear view mirror automatically move to the positions recorded in memory. MEMORY REGISTRATION (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION) Prepare by recording the shoulder belt anchor position through the memory switch (M1, M2 or M3). With the engine switch off and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) and transmitter unlock switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds. MEMORY REGISTRATION (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION, CARD TYPE) Prepare by recording the shoulder belt anchor position through the memory switch (M1, M2 or M3). Hold only the transmitter to be registered. With the engine switch off and the driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) and door lock control switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds. NOTE: Do not bring 2 or more keys into the vehicle. HINT: Either the lock or unlock switch on the door lock control switch can be pressed. The door lock control switch on driver side or front passenger side can be used. MEMORY ERASURE (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION) With the engine switch off and driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: the memory SET switch and transmitter unlock switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds. MEMORY ERASURE (WITH WIRELESS FUNCTION, CARD TYPE) Hold only transmitter for which registration is to be cleared. With the engine switch off and driver door closed, press and hold both of the following: the memory SET switch and a door lock control switch. Continue holding the switches until the answer-back buzzer sounds. NOTE: Do not bring 2 or more keys into the vehicle. HINT: Either the lock or unlock switch on the door lock control switch can be pressed. The door lock control switch on the driver side or front passenger side can be used.

DESCRIPTION

When up or down switch of the shoulder belt anchorage switch is pressed, an UP or DOWN signal is sent to the front door ECU LH. Then the signal is sent to the rear junction block ECU through CAN communication. Based on the received signal, the rear junction block ECU operates the shoulder belt anchor motor LH and moves the shoulder belt anchor LH up or down.

The shoulder belt anchor has a built-in position detection sensor. When the front door ECU LH or front door ECU RH receives a seat memory switch signal, it sends a memory store signal or call signal to the power seat switch LH or power seat switch RH and luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU). When the luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU) receives the memory store signal, it uses the position detection sensor to memorize the current position of the shoulder belt anchor. When the luggage room junction block assembly (rear junction block ECU) receives the call signal, it uses memorized shoulder belt anchor position and the position detection sensor to perform the call operation.

  1. SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION If a seat belt is not fastened, this system flashes the seat belt warning light or sounds the seat belt warning buzzer as a reminder. Driver side seat belt warning light: When the driver seat belt is not fastened with the engine switch on (IG), the driver side seat belt warning light on the No. 1 meter ECU comes on to inform the driver. The center airbag sensor detects the driver seat belt status and sends signals to the No. 1 meter ECU using CAN. Front passenger side seat belt warning light: When the passenger seat belt is not fastened with the engine switch on (IG) and the passenger seat occupied, check that the passenger side seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel*1 (multi-display*2) blinks. The No. 1 meter ECU displays the passenger seat belt status and whether the passenger seat is occupied. Seat belt warning buzzer: When the vehicle is driven at approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger seat belt is not being fastened, the seat belt warning buzzer in the No. 1 meter ECU sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds.

  3. SYSTEM OPERATION Driver side seat belt warning light When the driver seat belt is not fastened with the engine switch on (IG), the driver side seat belt warning light on the No. 1 meter ECU comes on to inform the driver. The center airbag sensor detects the driver seat belt status and sends signals to the No. 1 meter ECU using CAN.   1. INSPECT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT Turn the engine switch on (IG). When the driver seat belt is not fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the No. 1 meter ECU blinks. When the driver seat belt fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the No. 1 meter ECU is off.
  2. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT Turn the engine switch on (IG). When the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened with the passenger seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel*1 (multi-display*2) blinks. HINT: *1: w/o Multi-display *2: w/ Multi-display When the front passenger seat belt is fastened with the passenger seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel*1 (multi-display*2) is off. HINT: *1: w/o Multi-display *2: w/ Multi-display
  3. INSPECT SEAT BELT WARNING BUZZER HINT: If the buzzer does not sound, the buzzer cancel setting may be set to ON (see «CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS» ). Turn the engine switch on (IG). When the vehicle is driven at approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger seat belt is not being fastened, check that the buzzer in the No. 1 meter ECU sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds. Check that the buzzer sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 90 seconds. Check that the buzzer stops 2 minutes after the buzzer starts sounding. After the buzzer has stopped, turn the engine switch off and then start the engine again. Drive the vehicle at approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger seat belt is not being fastened, and then check that the buzzer sounds again. After the buzzer has stopped, fasten the driver and front passenger seat belts. Drive the vehicle at approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more and unfasten the driver or front passenger seat belt, and then check that the buzzer sounds again. After the buzzer has stopped, move the shift lever to the R position, and then move it to the D position. Drive the vehicle at approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.

When the engine switch is on (IG), the center airbag sensor transmits front seat inner belt state signals to the No. 1 meter ECU through CAN. If the driver seat belt is not fastened, the No. 1 meter ECU blinks the driver side seat belt warning light. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.
