- ADJUST COMPRESSOR OIL When replacing the compressor and magnetic clutch with a new one, gradually discharge the refrigerant gas from the service valve, and drain the following amount of oil from the new compressor and magnetic clutch before installation. Standard: (Oil capacity inside the new compressor and magnetic clutch: 130 +15 cc (4.6 + 0.51 fl.oz.)) - (Remaining oil amount in the removed compressor and magnetic clutch) = (Oil amount to be removed from the new compressor when replacing) NOTE: When checking the compressor oil level, observe the A/C system's precautions. If a new compressor and magnetic clutch is installed without removing some oil remaining in the pipes of the vehicle, the oil amount will be too large. This prevents heat exchange in the refrigerant cycle and causes refrigerant failure. If the volume of oil remaining in the removed compressor and magnetic clutch is too small, check for oil leakage. Be sure to use ND-OIL 8 or equivalent for compressor oil.
- INSTALL COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY Install the cooler compressor with the 2 stud bolts Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts. Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

Standard resistance RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 at 10°C (50°F) 9.4 to 10.5 kohms 1 - 2 at 15°C (59°F) 7.5 to 8.3 kohms 1 - 2 at 20°C (68°F) 6.0 to 6.5 kohms 1 - 2 at 25°C (77°F) 4.5 to 5.2 kohms 1 - 2 at 30°C (86°F) 3.8 to 4.2 kohms 1 - 2 at 35°C (95°F) 3.1 to 3.4 kohms 1 - 2 at 40°C (104°F) 2.5 to 2.8 kohms 1 - 2 at 45°C (113°F) 2.0 to 2.3 kohms 1 - 2 at 50°C (122°F) 1.6 to 2.0 kohms 1 - 2 at 55°C (131°F) 1.3 to 1.6 kohms 1 - 2 at 60°C (140°F) 1.1 to 1.4 kohms NOTE: Touching the sensor even slightly may change the resistance value. Hold the connector of the sensor. When measuring the resistance, the sensor temperature must be the same as the ambient temperature. HINT: As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases (see the graph below). If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the sensor.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE PTC HEATER RELAY (PTC HTR 1, PTC HTR 2, PTC HTR 3) Remove the 3 PTC heater relays from the No. 5 relay box.
- INSPECT PTC HEATER RELAY (PTC HTR 2) Measure the resistance of the relay. Standard resistance RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 - 5 When battery voltage is not applied between terminals 10 kohms or higher When battery voltage is applied to terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.
- INSPECT PTC HEATER RELAY (PTC HTR 1, PTC HTR 3) Measure the resistance of the magnet clutch relay.
- INSTALL PTC HEATER RELAY
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION Perform initialization (see «INITIALIZATION»(ref-349706-S07943075812009120800000) ). NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
