REPLACEMENT

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.
  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO. 1
  3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE Disconnect the air hose and ventilation hose. Remove the bolt. Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the intake air connector pipe.
  4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY RH Disconnect the oil control valve connector. Remove the bolts and oil control valve.
  5. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY RH Install the oil control valve with the bolt. Torque: 7.5 N.m (76.5 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) Connect the oil control valve connector.
  6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE Install the intake air connector pipe with the bolt and 2 hose clamps. Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) for hose clamp 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) for bolt
  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO. 1
  8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.
  2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY LH Disconnect the oil control valve connector. Remove the bolts and oil control valve.
  3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY LH Install the oil control valve with the bolt. Torque: 7.5 N.m (76.5 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) Connect the oil control valve connector.
  4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

Note. Wipe water off of the ECM cover and edges. Replacement of the ECM should be performed indoors, away from rain. No water should come into contact with the inside of the ECM. Connectors and screws should also be kept away from water.

  1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER Remove the 3 clips and engine room side cover.
  3. REMOVE ECM COVER Remove the 3 bolts and ECM cover.
  4. REMOVE ECM Remove the 2 nuts. Disconnect the connector and remove the ECM.
  5. REMOVE ECM GASKET Peel off the sponge part of the gasket. Spray gasket remover or equivalent on the remaining tape of the gasket. NOTE: When using gasket remover or equivalent, cover the ECM connector with a shop rag. Use a cutter knife. to remove the tape of the gasket. NOTE: Do not damage the ECM seal's surface with the knife.
  6. INSTALL ECM GASKET Clean the ECM's seal surface to the gasket with non-residue solvent. Attach the gasket on the ECM.
  7. INSTALL ECM NOTE: After replacing the ECM, it is necessary to initialize the ECM. Check that no foreign objects are stuck inside the ECM box. Connect the connector and install the ECM with the 2 nuts. Torque: 5.5 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
  8. INSTALL ECM COVER Install the ECM cover with the 3 bolts. Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
  9. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER Install the engine room side cover with the 3 clips.
  10. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
  11. ADJUST THE RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM (See «CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM»(ref-209433) )
  12. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM INITIALIZE (See «INITIALIZATION»(ref-209365-S34766117492005120900000) )
  13. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM INITIALIZE (See «INITIALIZATION»(ref-209370-S24942442202005120900000) )

Scheme 749: REPLACEMENT
  1. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD ASSY Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and accelerator pedal rod.
  2. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD ASSY Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector. Install the accelerator pedal rod with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts. Torque: 7.5 N.m (76.5 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
