WIPERS & WASHER INOPERATIVE

The following items may be the cause. Check and repair as necessary.

  1. Blown WIPER fuse (20-amp) located in interior fuse panel.
  2. Faulty wiper switch.
  3. Faulty wiper motor.
  4. Open or shorted harness.

WIPERS INOPERATIVE IN INTERMITTENT POSITION

The following items may be the cause. Check and repair as necessary.

  1. Faulty wiper switch.
  2. Faulty Body ECU.
  3. Faulty wiper motor.
  4. Open or shorted harness.

WASHER MOTOR INOPERATIVE

The following items may be the cause. Check and repair as necessary.

  1. Faulty washer switch.
  2. Faulty washer motor.
  3. Open or shorted harness.

WIPER MOTOR

  1. Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Connect battery positive to wiper motor terminal No. 3. (Scheme 4) Connect battery negative to wiper motor terminal No. 1. If wiper motor operates at low speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at low speed, replace wiper motor.
  2. Connect battery positive to wiper motor terminal No. 2. (Scheme 4) Connect battery negative to wiper motor terminal No. 1. If wiper motor operates at high speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at high speed, replace wiper motor.
  3. Disconnect positive lead from to wiper motor connector. With battery negative still connected to wiper motor connector terminal No. 1, connect a jumper wire between wiper motor terminals No. 3 and 5. Connect battery positive to terminal No. 6. Wiper motor should momentarily operate and then stop in park position. If operation is not as specified, replace wiper motor.
