Power Windows: Removal & Installation Lexus LS II

Removal & Installation (Front)

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove upper garnish. (Scheme 3) Carefully pry up rear edge of switch base plate, then pull switch rearward to remove.
2. Remove bezel from inner door handle by prying it out. Remove courtesy light. Remove door trim panel screws. Carefully pry door trim panel away from door to release retainer clips. Pull door trim panel upward to disengage it from door. Remove door frame garnish.
3. Carefully remove weatherstrip (do not pull hard; use a clip remover to disengage clips). Remove door glass run by pulling upwards. Remove outside rear view mirror. Remove speakers. Disconnect wiring harness from clips.
4. Carefully pull service hole cover away from door. Remove door ECU. Remove inside handle. Disconnect lock link rods as necessary. Remove door glass guides and door glass.
5. Remove door belt molding from top edge of door (secured by 5 screws and 4 nuts). Disconnect window motor connector. Remove 4 bolts securing window motor and regulator assembly, then remove assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Scheme 3

Removal & Installation (Rear)

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Pry up rear edge of switch base plate, then pull switch rearward to remove. Remove bezel from inner door handle by prying it out. Remove courtesy light.
2. Remove child proof cover. Remove 5 screws from door trim panel. Pry door trim panel away from door to release retainer clips. Pull door trim panel upward to disengage it from door.
3. Remove door frame garnish. Remove weatherstrip with a clip remover. Remove speaker. Disconnect wiring harness from clips. Remove screw grommets that secure service hole cover. Carefully pull service hole cover away from door. Remove inside door handle assembly (remove 2 screws and disengage 2 links).
4. Disconnect and remove lock link rods. Remove door glass guides and door glass. Remove door belt molding. Disconnect window motor connector. Remove 4 bolts securing window motor and regulator assembly, then remove assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation

Pry up rear edge of switch base plate, then pull it rearward. Disconnect switch connector. Unclip switch from switch base plate (or remove screws, if equipped). To install, reverse removal procedure.
