MASTER SWITCH

All of the windows can be controlled from the master switch on the driver's door panel. One of the individual switches on the master switch controls the driver's window. All of the other individual switches control the passenger's windows (these are referred to as "master passenger's switches" to distinguish them from the passenger switch on each of the passenger's doors).

PASSENGER'S SWITCHES

Window switches located on door panel of each passenger door.

WINDOW LOCK SWITCH

When the button for the window lock switch (located in master switch assembly) is depressed, passenger's windows cannot be operated from the master switch or the passenger's switches. Only the driver's window can be operated. To turn the window lock function off, press the button again and it will pop up.

PARTIAL LOWERING & "ONE-TOUCH" LOWERING OF DRIVER'S WINDOW

To partially lower the driver's window, press the button slightly and hold it there until the window is at the desired level. To fully lower the window without having to hold the button down, press the button down firmly and release it. This function, referred to as "one-touch" mode. "One-touch" function is controlled by driver's door ECU.

ALL WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Driver door ECU.
  2. PWR "M" fuse located in instrument panel fuse panel.
  3. Open or shorted wiring harness.

DRIVER'S WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Check master switch.
  2. Driver door ECU.
  3. Window motor.
  4. Open or shorted wiring harness.

PASSENGER WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Master window switch.
  2. Passenger window switch.
  3. Door courtesy switch.
  4. Front passenger door ECU.
  5. Body ECU.
  6. Window motor.
  7. Open or shorted wiring harness.

REAR WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Body ECU.
  2. Driver door ECU.
  3. Multiplex communication circuit.
  4. Master window switch.
  5. Passenger window switch.
  6. Door courtesy switch.
  7. Open or shorted wiring harness.
  8. Window motor.

AUTO DOWN FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Master window switch.
  2. Driver door ECU.

WINDOW LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE

The following items may be at fault

  1. Master switch.
  2. Power main relay.
  3. Driver door ECU.
  4. Open or shorted wiring harness.

Right Front Switch

Remove right front window switch. Check for continuity between specified terminals of switch. (Scheme 6) See RIGHT FRONT SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. If continuity is not as specified, replace window switch.

RIGHT FRONT SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST

Rear Switches

  1. Remove rear window switch to be tested. Using 2 jumper wires, connect battery positive to switch terminal No. 1 and battery negative to switch terminal No. 4. (Scheme 6)
  2. Check for continuity between specified terminals of switch. See «REAR SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST»(ref-34412-S18158408132001010900000) table. If continuity is not as specified, replace window switch.
