1. DATA LIST HINT: Using the intelligent tester to read the DATA LIST allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators, and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non intrusive inspection can be very useful as intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the DATA LIST information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Warm up the engine. Engine switch off. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3. Engine switch on (IG) position. Turn the tester ON. Enter following menus: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / METER / DATA LIST Check the values by referring to the table below. 2. ACTIVE TEST HINT: Performing the ACTIVE TEST using the intelligent tester allows the meters, indicators and so on to operate without parts removal. Performing the ACTIVE TEST as the first step of troubleshooting is one way to shorten diagnosis time. It is possible to display the DATA LIST on the intelligent tester during the ACTIVE TEST. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3. Engine switch on (IG). Turn the tester ON. 3. INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH Disconnect the connector from the engine oil pressure switch. Engine switch on (IG). Ground the terminal of the wire harness side connector, then check the low oil pressure warning light. OK: Oil pressure warning light comes on. 4. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector. Engine switch on (IG), and check the multi-information display. OK: "LOW ENGINE OIL LEVEL" message is displayed. HINT: If the warning message is not displayed, go to the «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-235585-S32244280812006062400000) .
5. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY Engine switch off. Press the "DISP" button and hold it down. Engine switch on (IG). OK: All the dots in the multi-information display come on. HINT: This test is also available on «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-235585-S19725847032006062400000) . Engine switch off to finish this test mode. HINT: If the result is not as specified, replace the combination meter assembly.
