REMOVAL

REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR Disconnect the front speed sensor connector to the front speed sensor.
SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (See «REMOVAL»(ref-235464-S08290906992006062200000) )
REMOVE FRONT DISC (See «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-235547-S38029096402007083100000) )
REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (See «REMOVAL»(ref-235464-S08290906992006062200000) )
REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR Install the 3 hub nuts to the hub bolt. Placing an aluminum plate below the hub and bearing assembly, hold them in a vise. NOTE: Replace the hub and bearing assembly if it is dropped or receives a strong shock. Using SST, remove the front speed sensor from the front axle hub. SST 09520-24010, 09950-00020, 09950-00030 NOTE: Keep the sensor away from magnets. Pull the front speed sensor off straight, taking care not to make contact with the speed sensor rotor. If the speed sensor rotor is damaged or deformed, replace the hub and bearing assembly. Do not scratch the area where the speed sensor contacts the hub and bearing assembly. Do not attach foreign matter to the speed sensor rotor.

Scheme 161: INSTALLATION

INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR Wipe off sealant attached to the front speed sensor's fitting surface with white gasoline. NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor rotor. Install a new front speed sensor to the hub and bearing assembly. The front speed sensor connector should be placed in the upper position. Using the SST and press, install the skid control sensor onto the hub and bearing. SST 09214-76011 NOTE: Keep the sensor away from magnets. Do not use a hammer on the front speed sensor. Check that there is no foreign matter such as iron chips on the front speed sensor's detecting portion. Slowly press the front speed sensor straight.

INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING FOR LOOSENESS (See «ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION»(ref-235464-S05928820202006062200000) )
INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB FOR RUNOUT (See «ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION»(ref-235464-S05928820202006062200000) )
INSTALL FRONT DISC (See «REASSEMBLY»(ref-235547-S02766636302007083100000) )
INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (See «INSTALLATION»(ref-235464-S05329709552006062200000) )
CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR Connect the speed sensor connector to the front speed sensor. NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire.
INSTALL FRONT WHEEL Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL HINT: (See «TEST MODE PROCEDURE»(ref-235467-S10891810102006062200000) )

REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR Disconnect the front speed sensor connector. Remove the bolt and front speed sensor. NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR Install the front speed sensor with the bolt. Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip. Connect the front speed sensor connector.
INSTALL FRONT WHEEL Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (See «TEST MODE PROCEDURE»(ref-235467-S10891810102006062200000) )

REMOVE REAR WHEEL
REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector. Remove the bolt and rear speed sensor. NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

INSTALL TRACTION OFF SWITCH Install the traction off switch into the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
