SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. GENERAL The rear sunshade system has the following functions: manual operation; shift-linked operation; key off operation.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT Component Outline Rear sunshade relay The rear sunshade relay controls the rotational direction of the motor, which raises or lowers the rear sunshade assembly. Rear sunshade switch assembly The rear sunshade switch assembly outputs operation signals to the rear sunshade relay. Rear sunshade assembly The built-in motor raises or lowers the rear sunshade. The built-in limit switch detects rear sunshade condition.
  3. SYSTEM OPERATION The rear sunshade system has the following features. Function Outline Manual operation This function causes the rear sunshade to raise or lower when the rear sunshade switch assembly is pushed. Shift-linked operation This function causes the rear sunshade to lower when the shift lever is moved to R with the rear sunshade raised. When any of the following conditions is met, the rear sunshade is raised: The rear sunshade switch is pushed. The P position switch (transmission shift main switch) is pushed. The shift lever is moved to D or B and vehicle speed reaches 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or more. Key-off operation This function makes it possible to operate the rear sunshade for approximately 60 seconds after the power switch is turned on (ACC) or off.

OPERATION CHECK

  1. CHECK MANUAL OPERATION Turn the power switch on (IG). When the rear sunshade is lowered, push the rear sunshade switch. Check that the rear sunshade is raised. When the rear sunshade is raised, push the rear sunshade switch. Check that the rear sunshade is lowered.
  2. CHECK REAR SUNSHADE OPERATION AFTER POWER SWITCH IS TURNED OFF Turn the power switch from on (IG) to off, and check that the rear sunshade can be operated. Turn the power switch from on (IG) to off and wait for approximately 60 seconds. Check that the rear sunshade cannot be operated.
  3. CHECK SHIFT-LINKED FUNCTION Turn the power switch on (IG). When the rear sunshade is raised, move the shift lever to R. Check that the rear sunshade is lowered. Then, when any of the following conditions is met, check that the rear sunshade is raised. The rear sunshade switch is pushed. The P position switch (transmission shift main switch) is pushed. The shift lever is moved to D or B and the vehicle speed reaches 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or more.

DESCRIPTION

When the rear sunshade switch is pushed, an operation signal is sent to the rear sunshade relay.

Scheme 175: WIRING DIAGRAM

When the power switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved to R, the shift position sensors send a reverse (R) signal to the hybrid vehicle control ECU. Then, the hybrid vehicle control ECU sends this signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN. When the rear sunshade relay receives this signal with the rear sunshade raised, the rear sunshade is lowered.
