Occupant Classification System (Diagnostic Codes): Other Lexus GS III facelift

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTC Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382572-S09867252302011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 10 seconds. Check for the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . OK DTC B1795 is not output. HINT: Codes other than B1795 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check. OK --> See step 4 NG: Go to next step
  2. REPLACE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, save the ECU data from the ECU which has been installed on the vehicle. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-382823-S22337285132011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-382755-S28249673532011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, load the previous ECU data stored into the new ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-382823-S22337285132011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . HINT: If DTC is not cleared at this time, past DTC will remain. NEXT: Go to next step
  3. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) . NEXT --> END
  4. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-382823-S39243012562011012800000)

  2. READ VALUE USING DATA LIST (SPECIFIED CONDITION FOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the DATA LIST. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-382823-S29816421882011012800000) .   3. CHECK FOR DTC HINT: Check that the zero point calibration is completed normally. If any of the following condition is met, DTC B1797 will be output (refer to INITIALIZATION: Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) ). Zero point calibration is performed when the calibration conditions are not satisfied. Zero point calibration has failed. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382572-S09867252302011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Check for the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . OK DTC B1797 is not output. NEXT: Go to next step
  4. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . HINT: If the DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain. NEXT: Go to next step

  6. REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY) Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat cushion (with occupant classification ECU and occupant detection sensor). Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-382755-S28249673532011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382572-S09867252302011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, check for the DTCs of the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . OK DTC is not output. NEXT: Go to next step
  7. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU.   4. READ VALUE USING DATA LIST (PASSENGER SIDE BUCKLE SWITCH) Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the DATA LIST. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-382823-S29816421882011012800000) . Read the display when the passenger side buckle switch is operated. OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU: Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Specified Condition for Zero Point Calibration Diagnostic Note P BUCKLE SW Buckle switch (Passenger side) / SET, UNSET or NG SET: The seat belt is fastened UNSET: The seat belt is not fastened NG: Data is not determined UNSET - OK The Techstream display changes correctly in accordance with the operation of the buckle switch.   5. READ VALUE USING DATA LIST (SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR) Fasten the passenger side seat belt. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the value of the DATA LIST. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-382823-S29816421882011012800000) . OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU: Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Specified Condition for Zero Point Calibration Diagnostic Note FILTERED TENSION Filtered belt tension output / Min.: 0, Max.: 255 39 to 229 39 to 64 (no load) - OK When there is no tension on belt, 39 to 229 is displayed on Techstream.   6. CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and the detection sensor. Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor and occupant detection sensor side) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed or damaged. NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step
  7. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat cushion (with occupant classification ECU and occupant detection sensor). Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-382755-S11412666122011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  8. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration.   9. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) . OK Passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator changes correctly in accordance with the operation. NG --> REPLACE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU OK --> END
  10. CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and front seat inner belt RH. Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor side and front seat inner belt RH) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed and damaged. NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step
  11. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat inner belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-382587-S32282187642011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  12. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-382823-S13703721832011012800000) . NEXT: Go to next step

Replace the front seat outer belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-382587-S42433553592011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
