- If troubleshooting (wire harness inspection) is difficult to perform, remove the front passenger seat installation bolts to see the undersurface of the seat cushion.
- In the above case, hold the seat so that it does not fall down. Holding the seat for a long period of time may cause a problem, such as seat rail deformation. Hold the seat only as necessary.

- CHECK FOR DTC Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382823-S34104451062011012800000) . - CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the occupant classification ECU and the front seat inner belt RH. OK Connectors are properly connected. NG --> CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and front seat inner belt RH. Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor side and front seat inner belt RH) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed or damaged. HINT: If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection. NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step
- CHECK FRONT SEAT WIRE RH Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. - REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (PASSENGER SIDE BUCKLE SWITCH) Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat inner belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-382587-S32282187642011012800000) . HINT: Perform the inspection using parts from a normal vehicle if possible. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. - REPLACE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, save the ECU data from the ECU which has been installed on the vehicle. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-382823-S22337285132011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-382755-S28249673532011012800000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, load the previous ECU data stored into the new ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-382823-S22337285132011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). - CHECK FRONT SEAT WIRE RH Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. - CHECK FLOOR WIRE Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Disconnect the front seat wire RH connector from the floor wire. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard voltage Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Ua2-2 (FSR+) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V Ua2-3 (FSR-) - Body ground Disconnect the front seat wire RH connector from the floor wire. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery. Using a service wire, connect terminals 9 (FSR+) and 17 (FSR-) of connector B. NOTE: Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Ua2-2 (FSR+) - Ua2-3 (FSR-) Always Below 1 ohms Disconnect the service wire from connector B. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. HINT
- If troubleshooting (wire harness inspection) is difficult to perform, remove the front passenger seat installation bolts to see the undersurface of the seat cushion.
- In the above case, hold the seat so that it does not fall down. Holding the seat for a long period of time may cause a problem, such as seat rail deformation. Hold the seat only as necessary.
HINT
If this trouble occurs, the SRS warning light is off. If it is on, a DTC is output. Troubleshoot for the output DTC.
