Removal
- Remove front wheel.
- Remove bolts and brake caliper from steering knuckle. (Scheme 3) Support brake caliper securely.
- Remove disc.
- Check bearing backlash and axle hub deviation. See «BEARING BACKLASH & AXLE HUB DEVIATION»(ref-156691-S18839219582003072500000).
- Remove bolt and ABS speed sensor.
- Remove upper side of clip and nut. Using Special Tool 09610-20012, remove steering knuckle from upper control arm. (Scheme 4)
- Remove bolts and steering knuckle from lower ball joint. (Scheme 5)

Installation
- Installation is reverse of removal. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-156691-S19851874602003072500000) .
- Check ABS speed sensor signal. See «TEST F: SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CHECK»(ref-153594-S37091386092003041500000) under SYSTEM TESTS in ANTI-LOCK/VEHICLE SKID CONTROL - GS 300 & GS 430 article in BRAKES.
- Remove front wheel.
- Remove bolts and brake caliper. Support brake caliper securely.
- Remove clip and nut. Using Special Tool 09610-20012, disconnect tie rod end from lower ball joint. (Scheme 6)
- Remove cotter pin and nut. Using Special Tool 09628-62011, remove lower ball joint from lower control arm. (Scheme 7)
- Remove bolts and lower ball joint from steering knuckle.
- Inspect ball joint for rotation condition. See «BALL JOINT ROTATION CHECKING»(ref-156691-S42051993572003072500000) under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.

- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-156691-S19851874602003072500000) .
- Check front wheel alignment. See appropriate SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
- Remove front wheel. Remove engine undercovers.
- Remove bolts and brake caliper. Support brake caliper securely.
- Remove disc.
- Remove clip and nut. Using Special Tool 09610-20012, disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle. (Scheme 8)
- On vehicles with HID type headlight, remove nut and disconnect height control sensor link from shock absorber bracket. (Scheme 9)
- Remove bolt and nut. Disconnect stabilizer bar link from stabilizer bar. Remove nut and stabilizer bar link (Scheme 10)
- Remove bolt and nut. Disconnect shock absorber from shock absorber bracket. (Scheme 11)
- Loosen No. 1 and No. 2 lower control arm set bolts. (Scheme 12)
- Remove cotter pin and nuts. Using Special Tool 09628-62011, disconnect No. 2 lower control arm from lower ball joint. (Scheme 13)
- Remove nut, bolts and strut bar bracket. (Scheme 14)
- Place matchmarks on camber adjusting cam and suspension crossmember. (Scheme 15) Remove bolt, nut and lower control arm assembly.
- Remove bolt and shock absorber bracket from No. 1 lower control arm. Remove bolts and separate No. 1 and No. 2 lower control arms.

- To install, reverse removal procedure. After stabilizing suspension, tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-156691-S19851874602003072500000) .
- Check ABS speed sensor signal. See «TEST F: SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CHECK»(ref-153594-S37091386092003041500000) under SYSTEM TESTS in ANTI-LOCK/VEHICLE SKID CONTROL - GS 300 & GS 430 article in BRAKES.
- Check wheel alignment. See appropriate SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
- Remove wheel.
- Remove bolts and brake caliper from steering knuckle. (Scheme 16) Support brake caliper securely.
- Remove bolt and ABS speed sensor. (Scheme 17)
- Remove O-ring from ABS speed sensor.
- Remove bolt and ABS speed sensor wire harness.
- Remove clip and nut. Using Special Tool 09610-20012, disconnect upper control arm from steering knuckle. (Scheme 4)
- Remove bolt and nut. Disconnect stabilizer bar from stabilizer link. (Scheme 10)
- Remove bolt and nut, and disconnect shock absorber from shock absorber bracket. (Scheme 11) Loosen piston rod lock nut but do NOT remove it.
- Remove nuts, spring support reinforcement and shock absorber with coil spring. (Scheme 18) Remove suspension support No. 1 from shock absorber with coil spring.

- To install reverse removal procedure. Check that there is no foreign object attached to tip and installation part of ABS speed sensor. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-156691-S19851874602003072500000) .

Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Remove engine undercover. (Scheme 19)
- Remove bolts and nuts. Disconnect stabilizer bar from stabilizer bar links. (Scheme 20)
- Remove bolts and stabilizer bar brackets.
- Remove both bushings and brackets.
- Remove nuts and stabilizer bar links from both lower control arms.
- Inspect ball joint for rotation condition. See «BALL JOINT ROTATION CHECKING»(ref-156691-S42051993572003072500000) under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install bushing to outside of bushing stopper. (Scheme 20) Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-156691-S19851874602003072500000).
