Ensure piston ring end gap and side clearance are within specification. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Install piston rings on piston, with identification mark on compression rings toward top of piston. Position piston ring end gaps in proper locations. see scheme 37
Note. No. 1 compression ring is marked with "1T" identification mark. No. 2 compression ring is marked with "2T" identification mark.
