  1. CHECK IF OTHER DTC IS OUTPUT (See «PRE-CHECK»(ref-210363-S26172838942005122000000) ) YES : GO TO RELEVANT DTC CHART OK : Go to next step.
  2. READ VALUE OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR HAND-HELD TESTER (THO) Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Connect the OBD II scan tool or Hand-held tester to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool or Hand-held tester main SW ON. Select the item "AT FLUID TEMP" in the DATALIST and read its value displayed on the OBD II scan tool or Hand-held tester. NOTE: The values given below for "Normal Condition" are representative values, so a vehicle may still be normal even if its value differs from those listed here. Do not depend solely on the "Normal Condition" here when deciding whether or not the part is faulty. A/T FLUID TEMP - MEASUREMENT ITEM/DISPLAY (RANGE) Item Measurement Item/ Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note AT FLUID TEMP ATF Temp. Sensor Value/ min.: -40 °C (-40 °F) max.: 225 °C (437 °F) 80°C(176°F) (After Stall Test) If the value is "-40 °C (-40 °F)" or "225 °C (437 °F)", ATF temp, sensor circuit is opened or shorted. OK : CHECK AND REPLACE ECM (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-210284-S34294141912005122000000) ) NG : Go to next step.
  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR) Disconnect the transmission wire connector (E1) from the transaxle. Measure the resistance between terminals THO and E2. OK: ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR TEMPERATURE AND RESISTANCE Temperature: °C (°F) Resistance: kohm 10(50) 6.4 110(230) 0.2 Measure resistance between terminals THO and E2 of the transmission wire connector and body ground. OK : Resistance: 1Mohm or higher NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-213132-S05963097112005122600000) ) OK : Go to next step.
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) Connect the transmission wire connector (E1) from the transaxle. Disconnect the ECM connector. Measure resistance between terminals THO and E2. OK: TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM TEMPERATURE AND RESISTANCE Temperature: °C (°F) Resistance: kohm 10 (50) 6.4 110(230) 0.2 Measure resistance between terminals THO and E2 of the ECM connector and body ground. OK : Resistance: 1Mohm or higher NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-210284-S34294141912005122000000) ) OK : CHECK AND REPLACE ECM (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-210284-S34294141912005122000000) )
