Power Seats: Removal & Installation Lexus ES XV30

Using Fuse Removal

To clear the DTC, remove ECU-B fuse, from fuse block (located in engine compartment, near battery), for 20 seconds or longer. After reinstalling fuse, ensure only normal DTC "00" appears.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Remove the left hand outer front seat track bracket cover and the left hand inner front seat track bracket cover.
3. Remove the right hand inner rear front seat track cover and the left hand outer rear front seat track cover.
4. Set the front vertical adjustment in the most upper position. Remove the 4 bolts. Disconnect the connectors. Remove the left front seat assembly.
5. Remove the front seat headrest assembly.
6. Remove the reclining power seat switch knob.
7. Remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
8. Remove the 4 screws. (Scheme 28) Disengage the claws. Remove the left hand front seat cushion shield.
9. Remove the 2 screws. Remove the left hand front power seat switch assembly.
10. Disconnect the connectors. Remove the front power seat switch.

Installation

Note. For installation, reverse removal procedure except where noted below.

1. Set the left hand front seat assembly to the vehicle. Install the left front seat assembly temporarily with the 4 bolts. Tighten the bolts securely in the order of inner front side, outer front side, inner rear side and outer rear side. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152272-S39993975852003012700000) .

1. Remove power seat switch. See «POWER SEAT SWITCH»(ref-152272-S34274169072003012700000).
2. Disconnect the connectors. Remove the left hand front seat inner belt assembly.
3. Remove the 3 screws. (Scheme 29) Disengage the claws. Remove the left hand inner front seat cushion shield.
4. Remove the 2 screws. Remove the left hand inner No. 1 front seat cushion shield.
5. Disconnect the clamps and connectors of each wiring harness. Remove the 4 bolts. Remove the front seat cushion assembly.
6. Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 bolts. Remove the position control ECU assembly.

Note. For installation, reverse removal procedure except where noted below.

1. Install the front seat cushion assembly with the 4 bolts. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152272-S39993975852003012700000) .
2. Install the left hand front seat inner belt assembly with the bolt. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152272-S39993975852003012700000) .

1. Remove the position control ECU assembly. See «POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY»(ref-152272-S13439812282003012700000) .
2. Remove the hog rings. Remove the separate type front seat cushion cover.
3. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater. Remove the left hand front seat cushion heater assembly.

Note. For installation, reverse removal procedure except where noted below.

1. Set the seat heater to the seat cushion cover. Install the seat heater to the seat cushion with 32 tack pins. (Scheme 30) Install the left hand front seat cushion heater assembly.
2. Using hog ring pliers, install the hog rings. (Scheme 35) Install the separate type front seat cushion cover.

1. Remove the seat cushion heater. See «SEAT HEATER (SEAT CUSHION)»(ref-152272-S31113572622003012700000).
2. Disengage the clips. (Scheme 31) Pulling the left hand front seat back board downward and remove it. Remove the left hand front seat back board sub-assembly.
3. Remove the hog rings at the lower portion of the seat back cover. Remove the 4 bolts and the left hand front seat back assembly. Remove the 2 screws and left hand reclining adjuster inside cover. (Scheme 32) On vehicles with a side air bag, disconnect the wiring harness of the side air bag from the left hand inside cover. Remove the 2 screws and the right hand reclining adjuster inside cover. Remove the front seat back assembly.
4. Turn up the cover. On vehicles with a side air bag, use a screwdriver to disengage the seat back cover bracket. Disengage the claws to remove the 2 headrest supports and then take away the left hand front seat back cover from the back spring. (Scheme 33) Remove the hog rings and then take away the back cover from the back pad. Remove the separate type front seat cover.
5. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater and then remove the seat heater from the seat back cover. Remove the left hand front seat back heater assembly.

Note. For installation, reverse removal procedure except where noted below.

1. Set the seat heater to the seat back cover. Install the seat heater to the seat back cover with 6 tack pins (do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins). (Scheme 34) Install the left hand front seat back heater assembly.
2. Using hog ring pliers, install the hog rings. (Scheme 35) Install the separate type front seat back cover. On vehicles with a side air bag, install the seat back cover bracket.
3. Install the front seat back assembly temporarily with the 4 bolts. Tighten the bolts securely in the order of the outer front side, outer rear side, inner front side and inner rear side. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152272-S39993975852003012700000). Using hog ring pliers, install the hog rings. Install the front seat back assembly.

1. Remove the seat back heater. See «SEAT HEATER (SEAT BACK)»(ref-152272-S42097780482003012700000) .
2. Remove the screws and the left hand lumbar support adjuster assembly. Remove the left hand lumbar support adjuster assembly.
3. Separate each connector from the left hand front seat wire. Remove the 2 screws each to remove the front slide power seat motor assembly (sliding), power seat motor assembly (reclining), power seat motor assembly (front vertical) and front up/down power seat motor assembly (lifter). Remove the power seat motor.
4. For installation, reverse removal procedure.
