REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Removal

  1. Remove the 3 screws. (Scheme 4)
  2. Disconnect the 2 links from the handle.

Installation

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the 3 screws. (Scheme 5)
  2. Disconnect the 2 links from the handle.

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the cap and screw.
  2. Remove the 2 cap and clips.
  3. Remove the cap and screw.
  4. Insert a screwdriver between the panel and door trim and remove the 4 clips.
  5. Pull the trim upwards to remove it. (Scheme 6)

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the armrest cover and screws.
  2. Remove the 3 clips.
  3. Insert a screwdriver between the panel and trim to remove the clips.
  4. Pull the trim upward to remove it.
  5. Disconnect the connector.
  6. Remove the 3 screws and armrest base panel.

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the bezel.
  2. Pull the bezel backward and remove it. (Scheme 7)

To install, reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONTape the screwdriver tip before use.
  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the bezel. (Scheme 8)
  2. Pull the bezel backward to remove it.

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove 3 bolts. (Scheme 9)
  2. Pull the door glass out of the panel carefully.
  3. To replace glass remove the nut (a) and the stabilizers (b). (Scheme 10)
  4. Replace the door glass.

To install, reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONInsert a shop rag inside the panel to prevent scratching the glass.
  1. Remove the 2 glass mounting bolts. (Scheme 11)
  2. Remove the door glass by pulling it upward.
  3. To replace door glass, remove the stopper (a), the stabilizer (b), and the bracket (c). (Scheme 12)
  4. Replace door glass.

To install, reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the 8 nuts and regulator. (Scheme 13)and (Scheme 18).
  2. Disconnect the connector.
  3. To replace the regulator, (screw type) remove the 2 screws and remove the cover. (Scheme 15)
  4. (Crimped type) Using a screwdriver, pry up the cover plate tab and remove the cover plate. (Scheme 16)
  5. Remove the drum and wire guide from motor. (Scheme 17)

CAUTIONTo prevent the drum and cable from coming off, do not tilt the drum, subject it to shocks or use force on it. If the cable comes off the drum, do not rewind the cable and do not reuse it. After installing the window regulator, do not operate it by itself as some types of regulator do not have a stopper.

Note. If you can not insert the drum into the motor, slowly slide the bracket for installing the glass, and insert the drum while aligning the drive shaft of the motor with the drum.

  1. Insert the window regulator drum into the motor housing. (Scheme 20) Using holding tool A, apply MP grease inside the motor housing. With the holding tool installed, motor the holding tool with the motor housing. Push down on the wire guide and drum, and insert the drum into the motor housing. (Scheme 21) Apply MP grease to the side of the drum.
  2. Using holding tool B: Apply MP grease inside the motor housing. With the holding tool installed, partially insert the drum into the motor housing. Remove the holding tool, and insert the drum into the motor housing. Apply MP grease to the side of the drum. (Scheme 22)and (Scheme 23).
  3. (Screw type) Install the cover plate using the 2 screws. (Scheme 24)
  4. (Crimped type) Use motor pump pliers to crimp the tab of the cover plate. (Scheme 25)
