COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING
| WARNING | Since injury such as scalding could be caused by escaping steam or coolant, do not remove the filler cap from the coolant expansion tank while the system is hot. |
- Position the vehicle on a lift.
- Set the heater controls to maximum.
- Remove the engine undershield. Refer to «ENGINE UNDERSHIELD»(ref-531949-S17696129762013022000000) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
- Remove the coolant expansion tank cap.
- Position a container to collect the fluid.
- Attach a hose to the radiator drain tap. Open the tap.
- Loosen the engine drain tap.
- Close the radiator drain tap and remove the hose.
- Tighten the engine drain tap. Torque: 7 Nm
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
- Connect exhaust extraction hoses to the tail pipes.
- Refill the cooling system.
- Start the engine and continue to fill the coolant until the maximum level is reached.
- Install the coolant expansion tank cap.
- Allow the engine to idle, until hot air is emitted at the face registers.
- Switch the engine off and allow to cool.
- Clean any spilled coolant from the vehicle.
- Check and top-up the coolant if required.
- Install the engine undershield. Refer to «ENGINE UNDERSHIELD»(ref-531949-S17696129762013022000000) .
