- Partially remove rear door aperture seal.
- Remove 2 trim clips securing trim casing to body.
- Remove access panel.
- Remove trim clip securing trim casing to lower 'D' post.
- Models without third row seats: Remove trim clip from bottom rear corner of trim casing.
- Release trim casing to gain access to rear seat belt reel.
- Remove bolt securing rear seat belt reel to body.
- Remove trim casing.
- Position trim casing.
- Fit rear seat belt reel to body and tighten bolt to 50 Nm (37 lbf.ft).
- Models without third row seats: Fit trim clip securing bottom rear corner of trim casing.
- Fit trim clip securing trim casing to lower 'D' post.
- Fit access panel to trim casing.
- Fit trim clips securing trim casing to body.
- Fit rear door aperture seal.
- Models with ICE headphone control panels: Position trim cap and connect multiplug to headphone control panel.
- Fit trim cap to trim casing and secure with screw.

- Fit accessory socket.

- Release front door aperture seal from 'B' post.
- Release rear door aperture seal from 'B' post.
- Remove cap from front seat belt lower anchorage bolt.
- Remove front seat belt lower anchorage bolt.
- Feed seat belt through trim casing.
- Remove trim casing.
- Remove sound insulation from trim casing.
- Fit sound insulation to trim casing.
- Feed front seat belt through trim casing.
- Fit front seat belt lower anchorage and tighten bolt to 32 Nm (24 lbf.ft).
- Fit cap to front seat belt lower anchorage bolt.
- Fit trim casing to 'B' post.
- Fit front door aperture seal to 'B' post.
- Fit rear door aperture seal to 'B' post.

- Models with third row seats: Remove third row seat belt escutcheon. Remove cap from lower anchorage of third row seat belt. Remove lower anchorage bolt.
- Models with volumetric alarm: Release volumetric sensor from trim casing. Disconnect multiplug from volumetric sensor. Remove volumetric sensor.
- Remove rear seat belt blanking plate.
- Release 2 clips securing trim casing to body.
- Remove trim casing.
- Fit trim casing and secure with clips.
- Fit rear seat belt blanking plate.
- Models with volumetric alarm: Position volumetric sensor to trim casing and connect multiplug. Fit volumetric sensor to trim casing.
- Models with third row seats: Fit lower anchorage of third row seat belt and tighten bolt to 32 Nm (24 lbf.ft). Fit cap to lower anchorage bolt. Fit third row seat belt escutcheon to trim casing.
- Fit trim clips securing trim casing to body.
- Position grab handle and spacers to trim casing.
- Fit and tighten bolts securing grab handle to body to 3 Nm (2.2 lbf.ft).
- Close caps on ends of grab handle.
- Fit tail door aperture upper trim casing.
- Reposition rear seat.

- Models with base trim: Remove rubber mat from center console and remove cover plate from switch pack.
- Models with base trim: Remove 4 screws securing switch pack to center console, disconnect multiplugs and remove switch pack.
- Models with veneer trim: Release veneered console cover and remove cigar lighter element. Disconnect multiplugs from switch pack and remove veneered console cover.
- Remove 2 bolts securing forward edge of console to transmission tunnel.
- Release handbrake gaiter from console.
- Remove clip and clevis pin securing cable to handbrake lever.
- Move handbrake to fully upward position.
- Release electric seat switches from console.
- Disconnect multiplugs from switches and remove.
- Remove 2 bolts securing rear of console to transmission tunnel.
- Release center console from fascia.
- Disconnect multiplug and bulb from cigar lighter.
- Remove console. NOTE: Do not carry out further dismantling if component is removed for access only.
- Remove 4 screws securing storage bin lid to console and remove lid.
- Release cigar lighter body from console and remove.
- Fit and secure cigar lighter body to console.
- Fit lid to console and secure with screws.
- Fit console.
- Connect multiplug and bulb to cigar lighter.
- Fit center console to fascia.
- Fit 2 bolts securing rear of console to transmission tunnel.
- Connect multiplugs to seat switches.
- Fit switches to console.
- Move handbrake to lowered position.
- Fit cable to handbrake and secure with clevis pin and clip.
- Fit handbrake gaiter to console.
- Fit bolts securing forward edge of console to transmission tunnel.
- Models with veneer trim: Position veneered console cover and connect multiplugs to switch pack. Fit cigar lighter element and secure veneered console cover to console.
- Models with base trim: Connect multiplugs to switch pack, fit switch pack to console and secure with screws.
- Models with base trim: Fit cover plate to switch pack, and rubber mat to console.
- Fit transfer box gaiter and knob to lever.
- Secure transfer box gaiter to console.
- Connect multiplug to selector panel, fit and secure panel to center console.
- Fit spacer and knob to gear selector lever.
- Models from 03MY: Fit both center console cup holders.

- Release cigar lighter body from console and remove.
- Fit and secure cigar lighter body to console.
- Fit lid to console and secure with screws.
- Fit console.
- Connect multiplug and bulb to cigar lighter.
- Fit center console to fascia.
- Fit 2 bolts securing rear of console to transmission tunnel.
- Connect multiplugs to seat switches.
- Fit switches to console.
- Move handbrake to lowered position.
- Fit cable to handbrake and secure with clevis pin and clip.
- Fit handbrake gaiter to console.
- Fit bolts securing forward edge of console to transmission tunnel.
- Models with veneer trim: Position veneered console cover and connect multiplugs to switch pack. Fit cigar lighter element and secure veneered console cover to console.
- Models with base trim: Connect multiplugs to switch pack, fit switch pack to console and secure with screws.
- Models with base trim: Fit cover plate to switch pack, and rubber mat to console.
- Fit transfer gearbox gaiter and knob to lever.
- Secure gaiter to console.
- Fit knob and gaiter to gear lever and secure gear lever gaiter to console with clips.
- Models from 03MY: Fit both center console cup holders.

- Remove center console. - Remove 'A' post trim panels.
- Remove 6 clips securing both lower closing panels to fascia and remove closing panels.
- Remove mats from fascia.
- Remove 2 screws and release instrument cowl from 2 clips on fascia.
- Disconnect multiplugs from switches in instrument cowl and remove cowl.
- Remove 4 screws securing instrument pack to fascia.
- Disconnect 2 multiplugs from instrument pack and remove pack.
- Remove fascia access panel. Refer to «PANEL - FASCIA ACCESS - DRIVER'S SIDE»(/land-rover/discovery/l318-2002-2004/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-components) .
- Remove 4 nuts securing fascia to steering column bracket.
- Disconnect 3 multiplugs connecting main body harness to fascia harness.
- Disconnect fascia harness multiplug from fuse box.
- Remove 4 bolts securing glove box and remove glove box.
- Models with A/C: Disconnect multiplug from heater controls.
- Models without A/C: Release temperature and air distribution control outer cables from clips on heater casing and disconnect inner cables from levers.
- Separate blue section from ICE multiplug.
- Release coaxial cables from fascia panel.
- Disconnect multiplug from passenger air bag.
- Disconnect multiplug from blower motor.
- Working through glove box aperture remove 2 bolts, or 4 bolts if passenger airbag module is fitted, securing fascia to body.
- Remove 4 bolts securing lower edge of fascia to mounting brackets on transmission tunnel.
- Remove 4 bolts securing lower edge of fascia to brackets on 'A' post.
- With assistance carefully remove fascia from vehicle.
- If renewing fascia, transfer components to new fascia as necessary.
- With assistance carefully fit fascia and tighten bolts securing lower edge of fascia to 26 Nm (19 lbf.ft).
- Tighten bolts securing fascia to body to 26 Nm (19 lbf.ft).
- Fit nuts securing fascia to steering column bracket to 11 Nm (8 lbf.ft).
- Secure coaxial cables to fascia and secure blue multiplug to main ICE multiplug.
- Models with A/C: Connect heater control multiplug.
- Models without A/C: Connect temperature and air distribution inner cables to heater control levers. Set temperature control knobs to fully hot, distribution knob to de-mist position and, with flap levers fully closed, secure outer cables to clips on heater casing.
- Connect multiplugs to blower motor and passenger air bag (where fitted).
- Fit glove box and secure with bolts.
- Connect fascia harness multiplugs to main harness and fuse box.
- Position instrument pack and connect multiplugs.
- Fit instrument pack to fascia and secure with screws.
- Position instrument cowl and connect multiplugs to switches.
- Fit cowl to clips on fascia and secure with screws.
- Fit fascia access panel. Refer to «PANEL - FASCIA ACCESS - DRIVER'S SIDE»(/land-rover/discovery/l318-2002-2004/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-components) .
- Fit fascia lower closing panels and secure with clips.
- Fit fascia mats.
- Fit 'A' post trim panels.
- Fit center console For models with automatic gearbox: Refer to «CONSOLE - CENTRE - AUTOMATIC MODELS»(/land-rover/discovery/l318-2002-2004/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-components) . - Models with headlamp levelling: Remove headlamp levelling switch from auxiliary switch panel and disconnect multiplug.
- Models with A/C: Remove 2 screws securing in-car temperature sensor to auxiliary switch panel.
- Models with A/C: Disconnect multiplug from in-car temperature sensor and remove from auxiliary switch panel.
- Release 2 clips securing auxiliary switch panel to fascia and remove panel.
- Position auxiliary switch panel to fascia and clip into position.
- Models with A/C: Connect multiplug to in-car temperature sensor.
- Models with A/C: Position in-car temperature sensor to auxiliary switch panel and secure with screws.
- Models with headlamp levelling: Position headlamp levelling switch to auxiliary switch panel and secure with nut.
- Models with headlamp levelling: Replace cap and connect multiplug to headlamp levelling switch.
- Connect multiplug to exterior mirror switch and fit switch to auxiliary switch panel.

- Models with A/C: Carefully release ATC ECU from louvre panel, disconnect multiplugs and remove ATC ECU.
- Loosen 2 upper screws and remove 4 remaining screws securing louvre panel to fascia.
- Remove louvre panel assembly.
- Remove seals from face level vents.
- Fit seals to face level vents on new louvre panel.
- Fit louvre panel to fascia and secure with screws.
- Models with A/C: Connect multiplugs to ATC ECU and fit ATC ECU to fascia.
- Models without A/C: Fit screws securing heater control panel to louvre panel.
- Models without A/C: Fit heater control panel graphic plate and secure with screws.
- Models without A/C: Fit blower speed and heater control knobs.
- Position switch pack, connect multiplugs to switches and fit switch pack to louvre panel.
- Position clock assembly, connect multiplug to clock and door locking switch and fit clock assembly to louvre panel.

- Secure main body harness to transmission tunnel with nuts.
- Position front carpet retainers and secure to floor with screws.
- Fit finishers to front carpet retainers
- Fit both lower 'A' post trim panels.

- Release end caps from all grab handles.
- Remove 2 bolts securing each grab handle to roof.
- Remove all 4 grab handles.
- Models with volumetric alarm: Release front volumetric sensor from headlining and disconnect multiplug.
- Models with rear A/C: Release rear A/C control panel from headlining. Disconnect 2 multiplugs and 2 Lucar connectors from rear A/C control panel. Remove rear A/C control panel.
- Release rear interior lamp from headlining and disconnect multiplug.
- Remove rear interior lamp.
- Remove 2 clips securing rear of headlining to roof.
- Release rear sunroof switch from headlining.
- Disconnect multiplug and remove rear sunroof switch.
- Remove screw securing headlining to roof.
- With assistance, remove headlining.
- Models with rear A/C: Remove foam pads from air vents. Release 2 rear air vents from headlining. Release 3 central air vents from headlining.
- Remove 7 nuts securing each stowage pocket to headlining and collect mounting plates.
- Remove both pockets from headlining.
- Remove 8 screws securing rear console to headlining and collect 3 mounting plates.
- Remove rear console from headlining.
- Fit rear console and mounting plates to headlining.
- Fit and tighten nuts securing rear console to headlining.
- Fit both stowage pockets and mounting plates to headlining.
- Fit and tighten nuts securing stowage pockets to headlining.
- Models with rear A/C: Fit 3 central air vents to headlining. Fit 2 rear air vents to headlining. Fit foam pads to air vents.
- With assistance, position headlining in vehicle.
- Fit and tighten screw securing center of headlining to roof.
- Connect multiplug to rear sunroof switch.
- Fit rear sunroof switch to rear console.
- Fit clips securing rear edge of headlining to sunroof.
- Position rear interior lamp to headlining and connect multiplug.
- Fit rear interior lamp to headlining.
- Models with rear A/C: Position rear A/C control panel to headlining and connect multiplugs and Lucar connectors. Fit rear A/C control panel to headlining.
- Models with volumetric alarm: Connect multiplug to front volumetric sensor and fit sensor to headlining.
- Fit grab handles to headlining and secure with bolts.
- Fit end caps to grab handles.
- Fit front sunroof aperture trim.
- Fit rear sunroof aperture trim.
- Fit tail door aperture upper trim casing.
- Fit sun visor clips to headlining and secure with screws.
- Fit caps to sun visor clips.
- Position front stowage pocket to headlining and connect multiplugs to sunroof switches.
- Fit and tighten 10 screws securing front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Connect multiplug to front interior lamp.
- Fit front interior lamp to headlining and secure with nuts.
- Fit lens to front interior lamp.
- Fit and tighten screw securing front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Fit access panel to front edge of front stowage pocket.
- Position sun visor to headlining and secure to clip.
- Connect multiplug to sun visor.
- Fit and tighten screws securing sun visor to headlining.
- Repeat process for second sun visor.
- Models with premium ICE: Position both 'A' post trim casings and connect multiplugs to speakers.
- Fit both trim casings to 'A' posts and secure with clips.
- Fit both 'B' post upper trim casings. Refer to «TRIM CASING - UPPER - 'B' POST»(/land-rover/discovery/l318-2002-2004/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-components) .
- Fit both 'D' post trim casings. Refer to «TRIM CASING - 'D' POST»(/land-rover/discovery/l318-2002-2004/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-components) .

- Remove access panel from front edge of front stowage pocket.
- Remove screw securing front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Remove lens from front interior lamp.
- Remove 2 nuts securing front interior lamp to headlining.
- Disconnect multiplug from front interior lamp.
- Remove front interior lamp.
- Remove 10 screws securing front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Disconnect 3 multiplugs from sunroof switches.
- Remove front stowage pocket.
- Release clips securing sunroof switch pack.
- Remove switch pack.
- Fit sunroof switch pack to front stowage pocket and secure with clips.
- Position front stowage pocket to headlining and connect multiplugs to sunroof switches.
- Fit and tighten 10 screws securing front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Connect multiplug to front interior lamp.
- Fit front interior lamp to headlining and secure with nuts.
- Fit lens to front interior lamp.
- Fit and tighten screw securing front of front stowage pocket to headlining.
- Fit access panel to front stowage pocket.
