RIDING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Ride height must be checked with vehicle on level ground and tires properly inflated. Jounce vehicle several times to settle suspension. Measure vehicle height from side to side and from front to back. If ride height varies more than 1" (25.4 mm), repair or replace suspension components as necessary. Check vehicle passenger and luggage compartments for any heavy items and remove before performing wheel alignment.

ALIGNMENT PROCEDURES

Note. Prior to performing wheel alignment, perform preliminary visual and mechanical inspection of wheels, tires, and suspension components. See PRE-ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS in WHEEL ALIGNMENT THEORY/OPERATION article in GENERAL INFORMATION.

CAMBER & CASTER ADJUSTMENTS

Measure front camber and caster. If adjustment is necessary, raise and support vehicle. Reference mark position of strut mounting block. Remove upper strut mounting block retaining nuts. Push mounting block downward, turning to desired position (A, B or C). (Scheme 1) See CAMBER & CASTER ADJUSTMENT table. Reinstall and ti ghten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT

  1. Ensure riding height, camber and caster are within specifications. Measure toe-in of front and rear wheels. If adjustment is necessary, loosen tie rod end lock nuts. Turn tie rod adjusting sleeve to bring toe-in to desired specification. (Scheme 2)or (Scheme 3). See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATION»(ref-41978-S29503646952001100400000) table.
  2. Tighten lock nuts to specification. Jounce vehicle and ensure that toe-in adjustment remained at desired specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-41978-S24379688132001100400000). Repeat as necessary.
