1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the crash pad center facia panel(B) using the SST (A). (refer to the «CRASH PAD»(ref-357465-S42759464242010032300000) )
3. Remove the mounting screws (A) then remove the audio unit (B).
4. Remove the connectors(A).

1. Disassemble the top cover (A) after loosening 4 screws.
2. Disassemble the front cover (A) then disconnect the connector (B) between the unit and front cover if necessary.
3. Disconnect the connector (B) between the unit and the deck after loosening 4 screws.
4. Disassemble the deck (A) from the unit.

Tape Head And Capstan Cleaning

1. To obtain optimum performance clean the head, and capstan as often as necessary, depending on frequency of use and tape cleanness.
2. To clean the tape head and capstan, use a cotton swab dipped in ordinary rubbing an alcohol. Wipe the head and capstan.

Front Speaker

1. Remove the front door trim panel (Refer to the «FRONT DOOR»(ref-357474-S14886383002010032300000) ).
2. Remove the front speaker (A) after loosening 4 screws.

Rear Speaker

1. Remove the rear door trim panel (Refer to the «REAR DOOR»(ref-357474-S15478322372010032300000) ).
2. Remove the rear speaker (A) after removing 4 rivets.

Tweeter Speaker

1. Remove the front door delta cover (A) (Refer to the «FRONT DOOR»(ref-357474-S14886383002010032300000) ).
2. Remove the tweeter speaker after disconnecting the connector.

Woofer Speaker

1. Remove the rear seat. (Refer to the «REAR SEATS»(ref-357476-S12018300492010032300000) )
2. Remove the rear package tray. (Refer to the «INTERIOR TRIM»(ref-357465-S24298642342010032300000) )
3. Remove the woofer speaker (A) after removing 4 bolts.

External Amp

1. Remove the luggage side trim.
2. Remove the external amp (B) from the quarter inner panel after removing 3 nuts.

1. Install the front speaker.
2. Install the front door trim.

1. Install the rear speaker.
2. Install the rear door trim.

1. Install the tweeter speaker after connecting the tweeter speaker connector.
2. Install the front door delta cover.

1. Install the woofer speaker after connecting the connector.
2. Install the rear package tray and rear seat assembly.

1. Install the external amp after connecting the connector.
2. Install the luggage side trim.

Glass Antenna Repair

Note. To make an effective repair, the broken section must be no longer than one inch.

1. Lightly rub the area around the broken section (A) with fine steel wool, and then clean it with alcohol.
2. Carefully mask above and below the broken portion of the glass antenna wire (B) with cellophane tape (C).
3. Using a small brush, apply a heavy coat of silver conductive paint (A) extending about 1/8" on both sides of the break. Allow 30 minutes to dry. NOTE: Thoroughly mix the paint before use.
4. Check for continuity in the repaired wire.
5. Apply a second coat of paint in the same way. Let it dry three hours before removing the tape.

1. Remove the right side rear pillar trim. Then disconnect the 2P power connector from the glass antenna amp (A).
2. Turn the radio ON. Measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the harness side power connector and body ground. OK: approximately 12V (ACC+)
3. Disconnect the 2P connector of radio wiring from the glass antenna amp (A).
4. Check for continuity between terminals of harness side connector and antenna grid terminals (AM, FM).
5. Check the grid lines for continuity.
6. When a poor radio reception is not repaired through the above inspection methods, replace the amp.

If the radio reception is still poor, check the radio cable for short and radio head unit for failure.

Activation

In order to extend or reactivate your subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio, you will need to contact SIRIUS Customer Care at 888- 539-7474.

Have your 12 digit SID (Sirius Identification Number)/ESN (Electronic Serial Number) ready.

To retrieve the SID/ESN, turn on the radio, press the [SAT] button and tune to channel zero.

Please note that the vehicle will need to be turned on, in Sirius mode, and have an unobstructed view of the sky in order for the radio to receive the activation signal.

1. SATELLITE RADIO Selection Button(SIRIUS Satellite Radio)

Press the [SAT] button to switch to SIRIUS Satellite Radio. It cycles through the different bands as noted below.

SAT1 --> SAT2 --> SAT3 --> SAT1 -->...

2. Channel Selection Button

1. Press [TRACK ↓ ] or [SEEK ↑ ] button Press [TRACK ↓ ] or [SEEK ↑ ] button previous or next channel.
2. Press [TRACK ↓ ] or [SEEK ↑ ] button for 0.8 or longer to continuously move to previous or next channel.
3. If "CATEGORY" Icon is displayed at the top of the screen, channel up/down is done through the channels within current category.

3. Preset Selection Button

1. Push [1]~[6] buttons less than 0.8 second to play the channel saved in each button.
2. Hold down the preset button for 0.8 second or longer to save current channel. An audible beep will play to confirm the preset is stored.

4. SCAN Button

1. When the button is pressed, it automatically scans the radio stations upwards.
2. The SCAN feature steps through each channel, starting from the initial channel, for ten seconds.
3. Press the [SCAN] button again to stop the scan feature and to listen to the currently selected channel.
4. If "CATEGORY" Icon is displayed at the top of the screen, channel changing is done through the channels in current category.

5. TUNE Knob and ENTER Button

While listening to SIRIUS broadcast, rotate this knob to the right or left to search other channels while listening to current channels and push this knob to select what you want to listen to. (Turn to the right to search higher channels and left lower channels)

6. CAT/FOLDER Button

1. Press [CAT ↑ ] or [FOLDER ↓ ] button to enter the Category List Mode, it displays category items and highlights the category that currently tuned channel belongs to.
2. On Category List Mode, press these buttons to navigate category list.
3. Press [ENTER] Button to select the lowest channel in highlighted category.
4. If channel is selected by selecting category CATEGORY Icon is displayed at the top of the screen.

7. INFO Selection Button

Displays the information of the channel currently played by in the order of Artist/Song title --> Category/Channel name --> Composer(if available) --> Artist/Song title --> Category/Channel name -->... (ART/TITLE Selection)

Displays the information of the channel currently played by in the order of Category/Channel name --> Artist/Song title --> Composer(if available) --> Category/Channel name --> Artist/Song title -->... (CAT/CH Selection) (If there is no information of COMPOSER NAME, it returns to main display.)

8. SETUP Button

Press this button to adjust to the SCROLL, SDVC, SIRIUS and adjustment mode. If no action is taken for 5 seconds after pressing the button, it will return to the previous radio mode.(After entering SETUP mode, move between items using the left, right and PUSH functions of the TUNE button.)

The setup item changes from SCROLL --> SDVC --> SIRIUS --> SCROLL -->...

1. Antenna Error

If this message is displayed, the antenna or antenna cable is broken or unplugged. Please consult with your Kia dealership.

2. Acquiring Signal

If this message is displayed, it means that the antenna is covered and that the SIRIUS Satellite Radio signal is not available. Ensure the antenna is uncovered and has a clear view of the sky.

1. Remove the rear headlining.
2. Remove the SDARS roof antenna(A) from the roof inner panel after loosening the mounting nut(B) and disconnecting the cable (C).
3. Installation is the reverse of removal.
