SPEED OPERATION CHECK
- Remove the connector from the wiper motor.
- Attach the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1.
- Check that the motor operates at low speed.
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
- Check that the motor operates at high speed.

AUTOMATIC STOP OPERATION CHECK
- Operate the motor at low speed.
- Stop the motor operation anywhere except at the off position by disconnecting terminal 1.
- Connect terminals 1 and 5
- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3.
- Check that the motor stops running at the off position.

- Install three wiper motor mounting bolts on wiper motor and link assembly.
- Install wiper motor and link assembly. Attach wiper motor ball joint to wiper link assembly. Install and tighten two mounting bolts. Connect wiper motor harness connector.
- Place cowl vent in position and install nuts and fasteners.
- Connect negative battery cable.

- Before removal check that wiper has stopped at its off position.
- Remove nut cover and then wiper arm nut.
- Check that arms are marked "Dr" (Driver Side) and "As" (Passenger Side). If not, mark them before removal.
- Remove wiper arms.

- Remove wiper arms and blades. Refer to "Windshield Wiper/Washer System" in this section.
- Remove nuts and fasteners from cowl vent.
- Remove wiper motor and wiper link assembly. Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Remove two mounting bolts from assembly.
