To raise front of vehicle, block rear wheels. Place a floor jack under center front of crossmember. Raise vehicle and place safety stands at both sides of either body frame or side sills. To raise rear of vehicle, block front wheels. Place floor jack under center of crossmember. Raise vehicle and place safety stands at both sides of side sills. (Scheme 8)

Sportage

To raise front of vehicle, block rear wheels. Place floor jack under center of crossmember. Raise vehicle and place safety stands at second crossmember, on both sides of frame. To raise rear of vehicle, block front wheels. Place floor jack under center of rear axle. Raise vehicle and place safety stands forward of rear spring hangers on both sides of frame. (Scheme 9)

LIFTING VEHICLE WITH HOIST

Measure front camber and caster. If adjustment is necessary, raise and support vehicle. Remove mounting block retaining nuts. Push mounting block downward, turning to desired position ("A", "B" or "C"). (Scheme 10) See CAMBER & CASTER ADJUSTMENT (SEPHIA & SPECTRA) table. Reinstall and tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

CAMBER & CASTER ADJUSTMENT (SEPHIA & SPECTRA)

  1. Measure front camber. If camber is not within specification, raise and support vehicle. Loosen upper control arm bushing bolts. Camber is adjusted by rotating front and rear control arm bushing eccentrics equally. (Scheme 11) Adjust eccentrics as necessary.
  2. Tighten bolts to specification. Lower vehicle and jounce suspension. Measure front camber. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S26040275522001091900000) table. Repeat as necessary.
  3. Ensure camber is as specified. Measure front caster. If caster is not within specification, raise and support vehicle. To increase caster (+), loosen and adjust front eccentric of control arm and adjust as necessary. To decrease caster (-), loosen rear eccentric of upper control arm and adjust as necessary. (Scheme 11)
  4. Tighten bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S19187802262001091900000). Lower vehicle and jounce suspension. Measure front caster. Ensure camber and caster are as specified. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S26040275522001091900000). Repeat as necessary.

Optima & Magentis (Canadian)

  1. Ensure riding height, camber and caster are within specifications. Measure toe-in of front wheels. If adjustment is necessary, loosen tie rod end lock nuts. Turn tie rod adjusting sleeve to bring toe-in to desired specification. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S26040275522001091900000) . Tighten bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S19187802262001091900000) .
  2. To adjust rear toe-in, rotate assist arm to crossmember bolt clockwise to increase toe-in. Rotate bolt counterclockwise to increase toe-out. Adjust both wheels equally.
  1. Ensure riding height, camber and caster are within specifications. Measure toe-in of front and rear wheels. If adjustment is necessary, loosen tie rod end lock nuts. Turn tie rod adjusting sleeve to bring toe-in to desired specification. (Scheme 12)or (Scheme 13). See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S26040275522001091900000).
  2. Tighten lock nuts to specification. Jounce vehicle and ensure that toe-in adjustment remained at desired specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-123307-S19187802262001091900000). Repeat as necessary.
