TIGHTENING TORQUE

WARNINGAlways follow torque tightening levels. Failure to follow such levels can result in parts breaking if over tightened or loosening if under-tightened. In either case, serious personal injury or death could result to the vehicle occupants.

  1. Remove the wheel and tire.
  2. Detach the brake hose from the fork. (Scheme 6): Detaching Brake Hose From Fork
  3. Remove the bolt from the shock absorber bushing. (Scheme 7): Removing Bolt From Shock Absorber Bushing
  4. Remove the bolt then remove the fork from the shock absorber. (Scheme 8): Removing Bolt & Fork From Shock Absorber
  5. Remove the strut upper mounting 3 nuts and top mounting ring. (Scheme 9): Removing Strut Upper Mounting Nuts & Top Mounting Ring
  6. While pushing the axle assembly upward, remove the strut assembly.

Scheme 10: DISASSEMBLY
  1. Using the special tool, spring compressor, compress the coil spring.
  2. Remove the self-locking nut.
  3. Remove the special tool, bracket, spring pad and coil spring. see scheme 16: Removing Special Tool, Bracket, Spring Pad & Coil Spring
