- Remove the wheel and tire.
- Detach the brake hose from the fork. (Scheme 6): Detaching Brake Hose From Fork
- Remove the bolt from the shock absorber bushing. (Scheme 7): Removing Bolt From Shock Absorber Bushing
- Remove the bolt then remove the fork from the shock absorber. (Scheme 8): Removing Bolt & Fork From Shock Absorber
- Remove the strut upper mounting 3 nuts and top mounting ring. (Scheme 9): Removing Strut Upper Mounting Nuts & Top Mounting Ring
- While pushing the axle assembly upward, remove the strut assembly.

- Using the special tool, spring compressor, compress the coil spring.
- Remove the self-locking nut.
- Remove the special tool, bracket, spring pad and coil spring. see scheme 16: Removing Special Tool, Bracket, Spring Pad & Coil Spring
