Air Conditioning (A/C) System Flushing - General Procedures
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to «Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - General Procedures»(ref-312533-S11090926322009041400000) .
- Remove the desiccant sack. Refer to «Air Conditioning»(ref-312598) article.
- Flush the system. For additional information, refer to the manufacturers equipment instructions.
- Install new refrigerant lines if blocked with debris.
- Install a new desiccant sack. Refer to «Air Conditioning»(ref-312598) article.
- Add the required amount of oil to the A/C system depending on the repair procedure. Refer to «Refrigerant Oil Adding - General Procedures»(ref-312533-S15204653772009041400000) .
- Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to «Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - General Procedures»(ref-312533-S11090926322009041400000) .
- Carry out fluorescent dye leak detection test. Refer to «Fluorescent Dye Leak Detection - General Procedures»(ref-312533-S36480714142009041400000) .
- Check the A/C system for correct operation.

Scheme 1: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - General Procedures
- Refrigerant recovery.
- Remove the dust covers from the high and low pressure connections.
- Connect the high and low pressure lines to the appropriate connections.
- Open the valves on the connections.
- Turn the valves on the station to the correct positions.
- Turn the process switch to the correct position.
- Turn the main switch to 'ON'.
- Allow the system to recover the refrigerant from the system.
- Close the valves on the refrigerant station.
- Turn the main switch 'OFF'.
- Close the valves on the connections.
- Disconnect the high and low pressure connections.
- Install the dust covers to the connectors.
- Open the tap at the rear of the station to drain the refrigerant oil.
- Measure and record the quantity of refrigerant oil recovered from the system.
- Close the tap at the rear of the station.
- Evacuation.
- Remove the dust covers from the high and low pressure connections.
- Connect the high and low pressure lines to the appropriate connections.
- Open the valves on the connections.
- Turn the valves on the station to the correct positions.
- Turn the process switch to the correct position.
- Turn the main switch to 'ON'.
- Allow the station to evacuate the A/C system.
- Recharging
- Close the valves on the refrigerant station.
- Close the valve on the oil charger.
- Disconnect the yellow line from the refrigerant station.
- Remove the cover from the oil charger.
- Pour the correct quantity of refrigerant oil into the oil charger.
- Install the cover to the oil charger.
- Connect the yellow line to the refrigerant station.
- Open the valve on the oil charger.
- Move the pointer on the refrigerant gauge to mark the position of the refrigerant drop.
- Slowly open the correct valve on the refrigerant to allow the vacuum to pull the refrigerant into the system.
- Close the valve on the refrigerant station when the correct amount of refrigerant has been drawn into the air conditioning system.
- Turn the main switch 'OFF'.
- Close the valves on the connections.
- Disconnect the high and low pressure connections.
