A1: CHECK THE IGNITION COIL SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT

Pinpoint Test A

A3 Is the voltage greater than 10.5 Volts?

A2: CHECK THE IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE

Pinpoint Test A

A2 Is the resistance between 0.50 and 1.00 Ohms?

A3: CHECK THE CONTINUITY BETWEEN THE PCM AND THE IGNITION COIL

A3 Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE VALVE»(ref-199544-S02967808202005101900000) .
  4. Remove the oil level indicator.
  5. Detach the power assisted steering fluid reservoir.
  6. Unclip the engine breather hose.
  7. Remove the air intake tube. For additional information, refer to «AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE»(ref-199543-S00056862962005101900000) .
  8. Remove the ignition coil cover.
  9. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
  10. Remove the ignition coil.
