POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST

All Models

Gain access to power window motor terminal. Apply battery voltage to either power window motor terminal and ground remaining terminal. Motor should operate unless already at maximum travel. Reverse test leads. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If motor does not operate as described, replace window motor.

POWER WINDOW RELAY TEST

Turn ignition off. Remove power window relay located in fuse box at left side of instrument panel. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between relay terminals No. 2 and 4. (Scheme 1) Continuity should not be present. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 1 and ground terminal No. 3. Continuity should be present between terminals No. 2 and 4. If relay does not test as described, replace relay.

POWER WINDOW CIRCUIT TEST

Note. Circuit testing is performed at appropriate power window switch connector (harness side).

POWER WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT TEST

  1. Remove appropriate power window switch assembly. Disconnect power window switch harness connector. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground to specified connector terminals. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT TEST»(ref-31762-S25629872362001010900000) table. see scheme 2, see scheme 3 and see scheme 4.
  2. Power window motors should operate unless already at maximum travel. Reverse test leads. Power window motors should operate in opposite direction. If power window motors operate as specified, wiring circuits are okay. If power window motors do not operate as specified, repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, check appropriate power window motor and replace as necessary. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST»(ref-31762-S34869354192001010900000) under COMPONENT TESTS.
