DOOR GLASS

Note. Make adjustments with vehicle on flat level surface. Check weatherstripping for damage or deterioration. Remove door panel and plastic cover. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

  1. Remove power window switch from door panel. Connect power window switch to door harness. Raise glass up as far as possible and hold against glass run channel. Loosen roller guide bolts. (Scheme 4)
  2. Adjust glass parallel to glass run channel. Tighten roller guide bolts. Ensure glass moves smoothly. If necessary, lower glass, adjust front and rear lower channel. Raise glass and check for gaps. Ensure glass contacts glass run channel evenly. Check for water leaks.

ALL WINDOWS INOPERATIVE

Blown fuse No. 15 (100-amp) in underhood fuse/relay box. Blown fuse No. 12 (10-amp) in auxiliary fuse holder. Power window relay. Poor ground. Open in Black (4) or Yellow/Green wires.

DRIVER'S WINDOW INOPERATIVE

Blown fuse No. 28 (20-amp) in underhood fuse/relay box. Faulty driver's window motor. Faulty window regulator. Faulty master switch input. Poor ground. Open in Green/White, Red/Yellow (1) or Red/Blue (1) wires.

DRIVER'S WINDOW INOPERATIVE IN AUTO

Faulty master switch. Faulty pulser (in driver's window motor). Master switch input. Open in Red wire.

FRONT PASSENGER'S WINDOW INOPERATIVE

Blown fuse No. 26 (20-amp) in underhood fuse/relay box. Faulty master switch. Faulty passenger's switch. Faulty passenger's window motor. Faulty window regulator. Open in Blue/Black, Blue/Red or Blue/White wires.

LEFT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE

Blown fuse No. 25 (20-amp) in underdash fuse/relay box. Faulty master switch. Faulty passenger's switch. Faulty rear window motor. Faulty window regulator. Open in White/Black, Red/Blue (3) or Red/Yellow (3) wires.

RIGHT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE

Blown fuse No. 24 (20-amp) in underdash fuse/relay box. Faulty master switch. Faulty passenger's switch. Faulty rear window motor. Faulty window regulator. Open in White/Yellow, Red/Blue (2) or Red/Yellow (2) wires.

COMPONENT TESTS

Note. Some wires have been assigned a superscript to distinguish them from other wires of the same color. For example, Yellow/Green 1 wire is not the same as Yellow/Green 2 wire.

SWITCH INPUT TESTS

Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door panel. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Unplug connectors from master switch. Using a DVOM, perform appropriate switch input tests. (Scheme 5) If all input test results are okay, inspect connector and terminals for damage and proper fit. If connector is okay and power windows still malfunction, replace master switch.

Scheme 5: SWITCH INPUT TESTS

DOOR PANEL

Remove screw from inner door handle. Pull handle out half way. Carefully disconnect handle rod and power door lock switch. Remove screw cap(s), then remove screw(s) from inside armrest pocket. Remove cap and screw from door panel. Release clips that hold door panel. Remove door panel by pulling upward. To install, reverse removal procedure.
