Power Mirrors: Other Isuzu Amigo II

BOTH MIRRORS OPERATE ONLY VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY

If both mirrors operate only in a vertical or horizontal direction, replace power mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, recheck system operation.

Amigo & Rodeo

  1. Ensure continuity of power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is faulty, replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Check integrity of driver's power mirror circuits. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If driver's power mirror is okay, go to next step. If driver's power mirror is faulty, replace driver's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Repair poor connection or open in Black/Red wire between mirror control switch connector terminal No. 4 and driver's power mirror connector terminal No. 8; or White/Green wire between mirror control switch connector terminal No. 7 and driver's power mirror connector terminal No. 7. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) .
  1. Ensure continuity of power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is faulty, replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Check integrity of passenger's power mirror circuits. If passenger's power mirror is okay, go to next step. If passenger's power mirror is faulty, replace passenger's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Repair poor connection or open in Black/White wire between mirror control switch connector terminal No. 5 and driver's power mirror connector terminal No. 8; or White/Red wire between mirror control switch connector terminal No. 8 and driver's power mirror connector terminal No. 7. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) .

Hombre

  1. Check MIR/LKS fuse No. 7 (5-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 3).
  2. Repair short to ground in Orange wire between Body Bussed Electrical Center (BBEC), instrument panel fuse block, and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  3. Disconnect power mirror switch. Connect test light between ground and power mirror switch connector terminal "G" (Orange wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If test light comes on, go to step 5). If test light does not come on, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in Orange wire between Body Bussed Electrical Center (BBEC), instrument panel fuse block and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  5. Connect self-powered test light between ground and power mirror switch connector terminal "B" (Black wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 7).
  6. Repair open in Black wire between power mirror switch and instrument panel fuse block. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  7. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to driver's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "C" (Light Green wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "F" (White wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect driver's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between power mirror connector terminal "C" and power mirror switch connector terminal "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If reading is less than 0.5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is greater than 0.5 ohms, go to step 6).
  5. Replace driver's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between power mirror switch and driver's power mirror. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) .
  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to passenger's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "K" (Purple/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "I" (Red/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 4). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect passenger's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between power mirror connector terminal "C" and power mirror switch connector terminal "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If reading is less than 0.5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is greater than 0.5 ohms, go to step 6).
  5. Replace passenger's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between power mirror switch and passenger's power mirror. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) .
  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to driver's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "C" (Light Green wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "F" (White wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect driver's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "C" (Light Green wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 8). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  5. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "C" (Light Green wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 7).
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between driver's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  7. Repair open in Light Green wire between driver's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  8. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "F" (White wire) and "D" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 10).
  9. Replace driver's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  10. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "F" (White wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 12).
  11. Repair open in Yellow wire between driver's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  12. Repair open in White wire between driver's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  1. Remove power mirror switch but do not disconnect. Turn mirror select switch to passenger's side. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "K" (Purple/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 3). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  2. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power mirror switch connector terminals "J" (Red/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 2).
  4. Disconnect passenger's power mirror and power mirror switch connectors. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "K" (Purple/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to step 8). If test light does not come on in both directions, go to next step.
  5. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "K" (Purple/White wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 7).
  6. Repair open in Yellow wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  7. Repair open in Purple/White wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  8. Connect test light between power mirror connector terminals "J" (Red/White wire) and "E" (Yellow wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in both directions, go to next step. If test light does not come on in both directions, go to step 10).
  9. Replace passenger's power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  10. Connect test light between ground and power mirror connector terminal "J" (Red/White wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Move power mirror switch to RIGHT and LEFT positions. If test light comes on in either direction, go to next step. If test light does not come on in either direction, go to step 12).
  11. Repair open in Yellow wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  12. Repair open in Red/White wire between passenger's side power mirror and power mirror switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.

Trooper

  1. Check condition of AUDIO ACC MIRROR fuse C-11 (10-amp) located in dash fuse box. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck operation. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check that ground B-26 is secure. See «COMPONENT LOCATIONS»(ref-32585-S32728962822001010900000) table. Repair if necessary. If ground connection is okay, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect power mirror switch. Using a DVOM, check continuity between ground and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 9 (Black wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If continuity is indicated, go to step 5). If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in Black wire between ground B-26 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 9. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  5. Replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  1. Disconnect power mirror switch. Disconnect suspect mirror connector. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 1 (Black/White wire) and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 6 (driver's or passenger's side mirrors). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If continuity is indicated, go to step 3). If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  2. Repair open in Black/White wire between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 1 and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 6 (driver's or passenger's side mirrors). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  3. Connect fused jumper between battery voltage and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 5 (Black/Blue wire on driver's side or Black/Green wire on passenger's side). Then connect jumper wire between ground and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire on driver's and passenger's side). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If mirror operates, replace power mirror switch. Refer to «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If mirror does not operate, replace power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, recheck system operation.
  1. Disconnect suspect mirror connector. Connect fused jumper between battery voltage and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 5 (Black/Blue wire on driver's side or Black/Green wire on passenger's side) or terminal No. 4 (White/Green wire on driver's side or White/Black wire on passenger's side). Then connect jumper wire between ground and suspect power mirror connector terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire on driver's and passenger's side). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If mirror operates, go to next step. If mirror does not operate, replace suspect power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, recheck system operation.
  2. Disconnect power mirror switch connector. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between power mirror switch connector and suspect power mirror connector terminals as specified. See POWER MIRROR CONTINUITY table. If continuity is as specified, replace power mirror switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Repair open in Black/Blue, White/Green, Black/Green or White/Black wires between power mirror switch connector and suspect power mirror connector. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.

POWER MIRROR CONTINUITY

  1. Check condition of AUDIO ACC MIRROR fuse C-11 (10-amp) located in dash fuse box. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck operation. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check that ground B-26 is secure. See «COMPONENT LOCATIONS»(ref-32585-S32728962822001010900000) . Repair if necessary. If ground connection is okay, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect mirror folding switch connector. Using a DVOM, check continuity between ground and mirror folding switch connector terminal No. 5 or 8 (Black wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . If continuity is indicated, go to step 5). If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in Black wire between ground B-26 and mirror folding switch connector. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  5. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and mirror folding switch connector terminal No. 6 (Orange/Green wire). If battery voltage is indicated, replace mirror folding switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  6. Repair open in Orange/Green wire between dash fuse box and mirror folding switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  1. Disconnect suspect folding power mirror connector. Connect fused jumper between battery voltage and suspect folding power mirror connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Blue wire). Connect jumper wire between ground and suspect folding power mirror connector terminal No. 7 (Gray/Green wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . Reverse power and ground connections. If mirror folds inward and outward, go to next step. If mirror does not fold inward and outward, replace suspect power mirror. See «POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY»(ref-32585-S39645263592001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Repair open in Gray/Blue or Gray/Green wire between mirror folding switch and suspect power mirror. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  1. Check condition of ELEC. IGN. fuse C-4 (15-amp) located in dash fuse box. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck operation. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect mirror defogger switch connector. Turn mirror defogger switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between switch terminals No. 4 and 5 (Blue/White and Pink/White wires on connector side). If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, replace mirror defogger switch. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH»(ref-32585-S06017186532001010900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and mirror defogger switch connector terminal No. 4 (Blue/White wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to step 5). If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in Blue/White wire between dash fuse box and mirror defogger switch. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  5. Repair open in Pink/White wire between mirror defogger switch and mirror defogger. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  1. Disconnect suspect mirror defogger connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and suspect mirror defogger connector terminal No. 3 (Pink/White wire, driver's and passenger's sides). If battery voltage is indicated, go to step 3). If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  2. Repair open in Pink/White wire between mirror defogger switch and suspect mirror defogger. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  3. Check that ground connections B-2 and B-18 are secure. See «COMPONENT LOCATIONS»(ref-32585-S32728962822001010900000) . Repair if necessary. If ground connections are okay, go to next step.
  4. Using a DVOM, check continuity between ground and suspect mirror defogger connector terminal No. 8 (Black wire, driver's and passenger's sides). If continuity is indicated, go to step 3). If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  5. Repair open in Black wire between ground and suspect mirror defogger. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-32585-S30807434032001010900000) . After repairs, recheck system operation.

On Hombre, check MIR/LKS fuse No. 7 (5-amp). On Amigo and Rodeo, check AUDIO (15-amp) fuse. On Trooper, check AUDIO/MIRROR (10-amp) fuse.

Amigo, Rodeo & Trooper

Check ELEC. IGN. (15-amp) fuse. If fuse is okay, check defogger switch and wiring circuit.

Check AUDIO/ACC/MIRROR (10-amp) fuse, folding switch and wiring circuit.
