- Connect tachometer to engine. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure automatic transmission is in "N" or "P", and that all accessories are off. Also ensure cooling fan is not operating.
- With engine idling, check tachometer. If not to specification, readjust idle speed to nominal specification using idle speed adjusting screw. (Scheme 3)
