Accent
Battery voltage energizes power window relay when ignition switch is in ON position through fuse No. 10 (10-amp) located in underdash fuse box. Battery voltage is supplied at all times to power window relay for window motor operation through P/WDW fusible link (30-amp) located in engine compartment relay/fuse box. When power window relay is energized, battery voltage is supplied to the main switch assembly through closed relay contacts. When any switch in the main switch assembly is operated, battery voltage is applied to the power window motor. The motor is then grounded through the opposite contact in the main switch assembly.
Elantra
If vehicle is equipped with Electronic Time and Alarm Control System (ETACS), battery voltage is applied at all times to power window relay through fuse No. 16 (15-amp) located in passenger compartment junction block. Power window relay operation is controlled by the ETACS module based on window operation request. If vehicle is not equipped with ETACS, battery voltage is applied to power window relay when ignition switch is in ON position through fuse No. 20 (10-amp) located in passenger compartment junction block. Battery voltage is supplied at all times to power window relay for window motor operation through P/WDW fusible link (30-amp) located in passenger compartment junction block. When power window relay is energized, battery voltage is supplied to the main switch assembly through closed relay contacts. Santa Fe & Sonata

Vehicle is equipped with Electronic Time and Alarm Control System (ETACS). Power window relay operation is controlled by the ETACS module based on a window operation request. When power window relay is energized, battery voltage is supplied to the front door modules and rear window sub-switches through closed relay contacts. When window switch is operated, battery voltage is applied to the power window motor. The motor is then grounded through the opposite contact in the main switch assembly. The direction motor turns depends on battery voltage polarity.
SUB-SWITCH
When power window relay is energized, battery voltage is supplied to the main switch assembly through closed power window relay contacts. When sub-switch is operated, battery voltage is applied to the power window motor. The motor is then grounded through the opposite contact in the respective sub-switch and main switch assembly.
POWER WINDOW LOCK SWITCH
Window lock switch is used to prevent power window operation using sub-switches. Battery voltage to sub-switches is interrupted when window lock switch is in LOCK position.
Accent & Sonata
Adjust slant of glass at door regulator in a front-to-back direction if door glass does not fit evenly when closed. (Scheme 12)

Delta Sash (Tiburon)
Note. On Tiburon, check and adjust clearances as specified. (Scheme 13)and (Scheme 14).
Loosen adjusting bolt lock-nut located at bottom of delta sash. Using adjusting bolt, adjust distance between delta sash and door inner panel to 0.669" (17 mm). (Scheme 15) Tighten delta sash upper bolt and lower adjusting bolt lock-nut to 84-120 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
Channel (Tiburon)
Loosen channel adjusting bolt lock-nut located at bottom of channel. Using adjusting bolt, adjust distance between channel and door inner panel to 0.728" (18.5 mm). (Scheme 16) Tighten channel upper mounting bolt and lower adjusting bolt lock-nut to 84-120 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
Regulator (Tiburon)
Loosen regulator adjusting bolt lock-nut located at bottom of regulator. Using regulator adjusting bolt, adjust distance between channel and door inner panel to 0.571" (14.5 mm). (Scheme 17) Tighten regulator mounting and adjusting bolt to 85-120 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
Stabilizers (Tiburon)
Loosen stabilizer nuts. Adjust and set front and rear stabilizers to specified clearance. (Scheme 18) Tighten stabilizer nuts to 85-120 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
Stopper (Tiburon)
- With glass fully closed, glass edge must be parallel to weatherstrip at roof section, and 2 stoppers must simultaneously come into contact. Loosen 2 stopper mounting bolts. Adjust as necessary. (Scheme 19) Tighten stopper catch to 85-120 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m). Tighten glass stopper to 36-48 INCH lbs. (4-6 N.m).
- Close door and glass fully. Check for water leaks. Adjust as necessary. Install door trim seal and trim panel.

- Check for a flush fit between front and rear doors, fender and body. Ensure there is an equal and parallel gap between door edges and body. Measure front window glass and door clearances. (Scheme 20) If window glass clearances are not as specified, go to next step.
- Using adjusting bolt, adjust front door front glass channel until distance between door front channel and door inner panel is 0.39" (9.9 mm). (Scheme 21) Tighten front glass channel mounting nuts to 78-121 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
- Adjust window regulator by until distance between regulator and door inner panel is 0.47" (12.1 mm). (Scheme 22) Tighten regulator upper and lower mounting nuts to 78-121 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).
- Adjust front and rear stabilizers until window glass clearances are as specified. (Scheme 20) Tighten stabilizer nuts to 78-121 INCH lbs. (9-14 N.m).

POWER WINDOW MOTOR
Remove motor to be tested. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground across motor terminals. Motor should operate smoothly. Reverse polarity, and ensure motor operates smoothly in opposite direction. If motor does not test as specified, replace power window motor.
Accent & Tiburon
- Remove power window relay from power distribution box. Check continuity between power window relay terminals No. 3 and 5, and between terminals No. 1 and 2. (Scheme 26) Continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 5. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1 and 2. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace power window relay.
- Apply battery voltage and ground to terminals No. 3 and 5. Check continuity between terminals No. 1 and 2. If continuity exists, power window relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace power window relay.

- Remove power window relay from passenger compartment junction block. Check continuity between power window relay terminals No. 2 and 3, and between terminals No. 1 and 4. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 3. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1 and 4. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace power window relay.
- Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground to terminals No. 2 and 3. Check continuity between terminals No. 1 and 4. If continuity exists, power window relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace power window relay.
Santa Fe, Sonata & XG300
- Remove power window relay from passenger compartment junction block. Check continuity between power window relay terminals No. 85 and 86, and between terminals No. 30 and 87. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 85 and 86. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 30 and 87. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace power window relay.
- Apply battery voltage and ground between terminals No. 85 and 86. Check continuity between terminals No. 30 and 87. If continuity exists, power window relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace power window relay.
Note. Power window main switch testing for XG300 is not available from manufacturer.
Remove power window main switch. Check continuity between specified terminals, with switch in specified position. See MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY - FRONT & REAR POWER WINDOWS (ACCENT) table. (Scheme 27) If continuity is not as specified, replace main switch.

MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY (SONATA)
| WARNING | DO NOT allow arms or hands, or test equipment through window opening. During main switch test, window may operate up and down, resulting in serious injury or damage. |
Note. If left window operates up and down normally but express down does not operate, replace main power window switch.
- Turn ignition off. Remove main switch from driver's door. DO NOT disconnect main switch 9-pin connector. Ensure power window motors are operating properly. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR»(ref-63391-S02876157692001020200000).
- Turn ignition on. Backprobe main switch connector using a test light between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown wire). (Scheme 29) If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, check fuse No. 16 (10-amp) located in dash fuse box. Check fusible link "C" (30-amp) located in engine compartment relay/fuse box. Check power window relay. See «POWER WINDOW RELAY»(ref-63391-S17039805202001020200000). Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition on. Connect test light between main switch connector terminals No. 1 (Brown wire) and No. 3 (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire between switch and ground connection.
- Turn ignition on. Connect test light between main switch connector terminals No. 5 (Blue wire) and No. 6 (Brown/Black wire). Press left window switch to up position, and then to down position. If test light illuminates with switch in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace main switch.
- Disconnect main switch 9-pin connector. Check continuity between specified terminals with switch in specified position. See «MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY (TIBURON)»(ref-63391-S29422293482001020200000) table. (Scheme 29) If continuity is not as specified, replace main switch.

MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY (TIBURON)

- Turn ignition off. Remove sub-switch. Check for continuity between sub-switch terminals No. 4, 5 and 6, and between terminals No. 4 and 7. (Scheme 30) If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist between terminals 4, 5 and 6, replace sub-switch. If continuity does not exist between terminals No. 4 and 7, check switch illumination bulb.
- Check for continuity between sub-switch terminal No. 2 and 4 with sub-switch in up position. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sub-switch.
- Check for continuity between sub-switch terminal No. 2 and 4 with sub-switch in down position. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sub-switch.
- Using fused jumper wires, connect battery voltage to switch terminal No. 6, and ground terminal No. 4. Check for continuity between sub-switch terminals No. 2 and 3, and between terminals No. 1 and 4. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sub-switch.
- Using fused jumper wires, connect battery voltage to sub-switch terminal No. 5, and ground terminal No. 4. Check for continuity between sub-switch terminals No. 1 and 2, and between terminals No. 3 and 4. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sub-switch.
