Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
Scheme 60
Scheme 61
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Measure resistance between PCM connector terminals C2 and C3. Is there about 1.0 ohms or less? YES - Go to step 4 . NO - Go to step 16 .
- Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector.
- At the throttle body side, measure resistance between throttle body 6P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 6 with the throttle fully closed. Is there about 1.0 ohms or less? YES - Go to step 6 . NO - Repair short in the wires between the throttle body and the PCM (C2, C3), then go to step 7 .
- Replace the throttle body (see «THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-243301-S20535227372006082300000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-243313-S13405059332006082300000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor.
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P2118 indicated? YES - Check poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO - Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-243329-S34643243732006082300000) .
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATING AND SUBSTITUTION FOR TESTING»(ref-243311-S19790429062006082300000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «HOW TO SUBSTITUTE THE PCM»(ref-243311-S24543735662006082300000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
- Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor.
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P2118 indicated? YES - Check poor connections or loose terminals at throttle body and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, subtitute a known-good PCM (see «HOW TO SUBSTITUTE THE PCM»(ref-243311-S24543735662006082300000) ), then go to step 17 . If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1 . NO - If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-298125-S08727755362008091500000) ). If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-243329-S34643243732006082300000) .
