- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Check the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is there about 0.18 V or less? YES - Go to step 3. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the oil pressure sensor and the PCM.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the EOP sensor 3P connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Check the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is there about 0.18 V or less? YES - Go to step 8 . NO - Go to step 7.
- Measure voltage between EOP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. Is there about 5 V? YES - Go to step 16 . NO - Go to step 12 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Check for continuity between EOP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between the PCM (C22) and the EOP sensor, then go to step 18 . NO - Go to step 24 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C13 and EOP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 1. Is there continuity? YES - Go to step 24 . NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM (C13) and the EOP sensor, then go to step 18 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Replace the EOP sensor (see «EOP SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-220949-S07658679082006022100000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-220951-S17680691112006022100000) ).
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0522 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EOP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 23.
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0522 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Does the screen indicate PASSED? YES - Troubleshooting is complete. NO - If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EOP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 21 and recheck.
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM (see «PCM UPDATING AND SUBSTITUTION FOR TESTING»(ref-220945-S16531944742006022100000) ).
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0522 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EOP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-220946-S32339521312006022100000) ).

- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Check the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is there about 4.79 V or more? YES - Go to step 3. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the oil pressure sensor and the PCM.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the EOP sensor 3P connector.
- Connect EOP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3 with a jumper wire.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Check the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is there about 4.79 V or more? YES - Go to step 8. NO - Go to step 18 .
- Remove the jumper wire.
- Measure voltage between EOP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. Is there about 5 V? YES - Go to step 14. NO - Go to step 10.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C14 and EOP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 3. Is there continuity? YES - Go to step 26 . NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM (C14) and the EOP sensor, then go to step 20 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C22 and EOP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2. Is there continuity? YES - Go to step 14 . NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM (C22) and the EOP sensor, then go to step 20 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Replace the EOP sensor (see «EOP SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-220949-S07658679082006022100000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-220951-S17680691112006022100000) ).
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0523 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EOP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 25.
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0523 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Does the screen indicated PASSED? YES - Troubleshooting is complete. NO - If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EOP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 23 and recheck.
