Connecting Pipe Replacement

  1. Drain the engine coolant. See «Coolant Replacement»(ref-290817-S11744345252008072200000) .
  2. Remove the intake manifold. See «REMOVAL»(ref-360066-S08435445072010042600000) .
  3. Disconnect the heater hose (A) and the water bypass hose (B), then remove the connecting pipe mounting bolts (C), then remove the connecting pipe.
  4. Install the connecting pipe with a new O-ring (E), then connect the heater hose and the water bypass hose.
  5. Install the intake manifold. See «INSTALLATION»(ref-360066-S07298263282010042600000) .
  6. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed the air from the cooling system with the heater calve open. See step 7 in «Coolant Replacement»(ref-290817-S11744345252008072200000) .
  7. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see «DISCONNECTION»(ref-290830-S11729868702009102900000) ).
  2. Drain the engine coolant (see «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-290817-S11744345252008072200000) ).
  3. Remove the front grille cover.
  4. Disconnect the fan motor connectors (A) and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor 2 connector (B), and the A/C compressor clutch connector (C), then remove the harness clamps (D).
  5. Remove the upper brackets and cushions (A), then remove the bulkhead (B).
  6. A/T model: Remove the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses (see «ATF COOLER HOSE REPLACEMENT»(ref-355247-S40435044132010012100000) ).
  7. Remove the upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose from the radiator, then pull up the radiator.
  8. Remove the fan shroud assemblies and other parts from the radiator.
  9. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the upper and lower cushions are set securely.
  10. Install the bulkhead in the reverse order of removal. Apply touch-up paint to the bulkhead mounting bolts.
  11. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «RECONNECTION»(ref-290830-S41579678952009102900000) ).
  12. Refill the transmission with ATF. See «ATF REPLACEMENT.»(ref-360064-S06757241342010042600000)
  13. Fill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed the air from the cooling system with the heater valve open (see step 10 on «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-290817-S11744345252008072200000) ).
  14. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
