  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
  3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC U128D indicated? YES -Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the power seat control unit and the gauge control module.
  5. From the BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SELECT menu, select B-CAN CONTROL UNITS INFORMATION, and then select CHECK CONNECTED CONTROL UNITS. Is the gauge control module detected? YES -Go to 10 . NO -Go to next step.
  6. Measure the voltage between body ground and gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 17 individually. Is there battery voltage? YES -Go to 9 . NO -Go to next step.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  8. Check the No. A15 (10A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the No. B5 (7.5 A) fuse in the drive's under-dash fuse/relay box. are the fuses OK? YES -Repair an open or high resistance in the No. A15 (10A)and/or No. B5 (7.5 A) fuse circuit. NO -Replace the fuse(s). If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground on the No. A15 (10A) and/or No. B5 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.
  9. Measure the voltage between body ground and gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 32 individually. Is there less than 0.2V? YES -Go to 11 . NO -Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire(s) or poor ground (G401) and/or (G402).
  10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  11. Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector.
  12. Disconnect power seat control unit connector B (40P).
  13. Check for continuity between power seat control unit connector B (40P) terminals No. 21 and No. 22 and Gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 30 and No. 31 respectively. Is there continuity? YES -Replace the gauge control module (see «GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT»(ref-360081-S32262066982010042600000) ). NO -Repair an open or poor connection in the B-CAN wire(s) between the gauge control module and the power seat control unit.

System Input Test and Function Test

  1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  3. From the BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SELECT menu, select POWER SEAT/POWER MIRROR, then DTCs. If DTCs are found, troubleshoot the DTCs using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see «TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A»(ref-360108-S37049833192010042600000) ). If no DTCs are found, go to next step.
  4. Exit the DTC mode, and select DATA LIST from the POWER SEAT/POWER MIRROR TEST MODE MENU.
  5. Test each input and monitor each output under the condition shown below: If the data list indication is correct, continue to the next switch. If all switches are OK, go to next step. If the data list indication is not correct, do the appropriate test at the control unit and terminal indicated in the table. Voltage drop tests should be done with the ignition switch in ON (II) and all connectors connected and the meter negative test lead attached to a good body ground, unless specified otherwise. Continuity tests should be done with the ignition switch in LOCK (0) and indicated terminals disconnected. 6. Exit the DATA LIST and select FUNCTION TEST.
  7. Do each of the function tests listed in the table shown. The appropriate output should occur. If the function operates normally, go to the next function test. If all function tests operate normally, the system is OK. If the function does not occur, do the appropriate test at the control unit and terminal indicated in the table. Voltage drop tests should be done with the ignition switch in ON (II) and all connectors connected. Continuity tests should be done with the ignition switch in LOCK (0) and indicated terminals disconnected. Jumper tests should be done according to the instructions indicated. If the test indicates that the component operates normally, but the function will not operate by doing the function test or. the normal use of the component, the control unit that operates that function must be faulty; replace it. If the test indicates that the component does not operate normally, check for an open or short in the harnesses between the component and the control unit. If the harness is OK, replace the component. Note. SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the driver's seat (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360101-S33805544852010042600000) ). NOTE: Be careful not to scratch the interior trim.
  3. Disconnect the 18P connector (A) and 40P connector (B) from the power seat control unit (C).

  1. Remove the driver's door panel (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360114-S16109316092010042600000) ).
  2. Disconnect the 7P connector (A) from the driver's position memory switch (B).
  3. Remove the four screws, then remove the switch from the door panel.
  4. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. NOTE: Make sure the correct test lead (+ or -) is placed on the terminal. When checking for continuity across the diode, use the diode setting (-->(symbol)) on the digital volt/ohm meter to check the diode bias. Note this important operating characteristic: diode to fully conduct electricity in one direction (forward), while not at all in the opposite direction (reverse).
  5. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
  6. Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
