DTC Clear

  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS while the engine is stopped.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait 30 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and disconnect the HDS from the DLC.

Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshots, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ). Information marked with an asterisk (*) applies to the rear engine mount actuator. When testing the engine mount actuator, be sure to use a VOM capable of reading 0.01 ohms change of resistance. Be sure to zero the meter before checking the engine mount actuator. If the vehicle has been driven, allow the engine mount actuator to cool down for about 2 hours before testing.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  3. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  4. Check for Pending Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0A14 and/or P0AB6* indicated? YES -Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Disconnect the front engine mount actuator (rear engine mount actuator)* 2P connector.
  7. Disconnect engine mount control unit 16P connector.
  8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  9. Measure the voltage between body ground and the appropriate engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal (see table). YES -Repair a short to power in the wire between the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator, then go to step 13 . NO --Go to next step.
  10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  11. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 5 (No. 1 and No. 2)*. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short in the wire(s) between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 3 and No. 5 (No. 1 and No. 2)*, then go to step 14 . NO --Go to next step.
  12. At the engine mount actuator side, measure the resistance between front engine mount actuator (rear engine mount actuator)* 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. NOTE: Zero-out the meter before testing to adjust the meter to the test leads. Is there about 0.48-0.54 ohms (68 °F/20 °C)? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator. If it is OK, replace the engine mount control unit (see «ENGINE MOUNT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360085-S19041323442010042600000) ), then go to step 14 . NO -Replace the front engine mount (see «FRONT ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360086-S40368045942010042600000) ), or the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360086-S13214594872010042600000) ), then go to step 14 .
  13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  14. Reconnect all connectors.
  15. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  16. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  17. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  18. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0A14 and/or P0AB6* indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

DTC P0A15: Front Engine Mount Actuator Control Circuit Low Current; DTC P0AB7: Rear Engine Mount Actuator Control Circuit Low Current

Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshots, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ). Information marked with an asterisk (*) applies to the rear engine mount actuator. When testing the engine mount actuator, be sure to use a VOM capable of reading 0.01 ohms change of resistance.   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  3. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0A15 and/or P0AB7* indicated? YES --Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator, the engine mount control unit, and body ground (G302).
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Disconnect the front engine mount actuator (rear engine mount actuator)* 2P connector.
  7. At the engine mount actuator side, measure the resistance between front engine mount actuator (rear engine mount actuator)* 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. NOTE: Zero-out the meter before testing to adjust the meter to the test leads. Is there about 0.48-0.54 ohms (68 °F/20 °C)? YES --Go to next step. NO -Replace the front engine mount (see «FRONT ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360086-S40368045942010042600000) ) or the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360086-S13214594872010042600000) ), then go to step 13 .
  8. Disconnect engine mount control unit 16P connector.
  9. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES --Go to next step. NO -Repair an open in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground (G302), then go to step 13 .
  10. Check for continuity between the appropriate engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal and body ground (see table).   11. Connect the appropriate front engine mount actuator (rear engine mount actuator)* 2P connector terminal to body ground with a jumper wire (see table).   12. Check for continuity between the appropriate engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal and body ground (see table). NO -Repair an open in the wire between the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator, then go to next step.
  13. Reconnect all connectors.
  14. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  15. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  16. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  17. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0A15 and/or P0AB7* indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the engine mount actuator, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P16C5 indicated? YES -Do the troubleshooting for the DTC P16C5 (see «DTC P16C5: ENGINE MOUNT ACTUATOR CONTROL POWER CIRCUIT STUCK ON»(ref-360085-S26587116762010042600000) ). NO -Go to next step.
  3. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  4. Start the engine, and let it idle 10 seconds.
  5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15AB indicated? YES -Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the body ground (G302).
  6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  7. Inspect the No. B7 ACG (15A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box. Is the fuse OK? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair a short to ground in the wire between the No. B7 ACG fuse and engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 9. Also replace the No. B7 ACG fuse, then go to step 14 .
  8. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit 16P connector. Are The Connections And The Terminals OK? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair the connections or the terminals, then go to step 14 .
  9. Disconnect engine mount control unit 16P connector.
  10. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  11. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 9 and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair an open in the wire between the No. B7 ACG fuse and engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 9. Turn the ignition switch to Lock (0), then go to step 14 .
  12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  13. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 11 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Replace the engine mount control unit (see «ENGINE MOUNT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360085-S19041323442010042600000) ), then go to next step. NO -Repair an open in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 11 and body ground (G302), then go to next step.
  14. Reconnect all connectors.
  15. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  16. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  17. Start the engine, and let it idle 10 seconds.
  18. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15AB indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and body ground (G302), then recheck. If the symptom still does not go away, replace the engine mount control unit. NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  3. Select the VTEC TEST in the PGM-FI INSPECTION menu, and do the VPS TEST of the 3 CYLINDER ACTIVATION TEST with the HDS.
  4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15AE indicated? YES -Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Disconnect engine mount control unit 16P connector.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  8. Select the VTEC TEST in the PGM-FI INSPECTION menu, and do the VPS TEST of the 3 CYLINDER ACTIVATION TEST with the HDS.
  9. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground during 3 cylinder pause mode. Is there battery voltage? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM. If it is OK, replace the engine mount control unit (see «ENGINE MOUNT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360085-S19041323442010042600000) ). Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then go to step 16 . NO -Go to step 10.
  10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  11. Jump the SCS line with the HDS. NOTE: This step must be done to protect the PCM from damage.
  12. Disconnect PCM connector A (49P).
  13. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 8 and PCM connector terminal A14, then go to step 16 . NO -Go to step 14.
  14. Connect engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 8 to body ground with a jumper wire.
  15. Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal A14 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM. If it is OK, go to step 21 . NO -Repair an open in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No, 8 and PCM connector terminal A14, then go to step 16.
  16. Reconnect all connectors.
  17. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  18. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  19. Select the VTEC TEST in the PGM-FI INSPECTION menu, and do the VPS TEST of the 3 CYLINDER ACTIVATION TEST with the HDS.
  20. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15AE indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
  21. Reconnect all connectors.
  22. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-360080-S11980508702010042600000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) ).
  23. Select the VTEC TEST in the PGM-FI INSPECTION menu, and do the VPS TEST of the 3 CYLINDER ACTIVATION TEST with the HDS.
  24. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15AE indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) ), and retest. If the PCM was substituted and the symptom indicated goes away, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S27881728262010042600000) ). NO -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S27881728262010042600000) ). If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

DTC P15B0: CKP Sensor Signal Malfunction; DTC P15C0: CKP Sensor Signal Intermittent Interruption

Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshots, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ). If PGM-FI system's DTC P0335 and/or P0339 is stored at the same time as DTC P15B0 and/or P15C0, troubleshoot P0335 and/or P0339 first, then recheck for P15B0 and/or P15C0.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  3. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  4. Check for pending or confirmed DTC's with the HDS. Is DTC P15B0 and/or P15C0 indicated? YES -Go to step 5. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit 16P connector and PCM connector A (49P). Are the connections and terminals OK? YES -Go to step 7. NO -Repair the connections or terminals, then go to step 28 .
  7. Disconnect CKP sensor 3P connector.
  8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  9. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground. Is there about 5 V? YES -Go to step 10. NO -Go to step 20 .
  10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  11. Connect CKP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 3 to body ground with a jumper wire.
  12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  13. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground. Is there about 0 V? YES -Replace the engine mount control unit (see «ENGINE MOUNT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360085-S19041323442010042600000) ). Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then go to step 28 . NO -Go to step 14.
  14. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  15. Remove the jumper wire from the CKP sensor 3P connector.
  16. Jump the SCS line with the HDS. NOTE: This step must be done to protect the PCM from damage.
  17. Disconnect PCM connector A (49P).
  18. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  19. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminal A34 and body ground. Is there about 5 V? YES -Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then go to step 33 . NO -Repair an open in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and PCM connector terminal A34. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then go to step 28 .
  20. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

  22. Disconnect the PCM connector A (49P).
  23. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  24. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground. Is there about 5 V? YES -Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then go to step 33. NO -Go to next step.
  25. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  26. Disconnect the engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground.
  27. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 12 and PCM connector terminal A34, then go to next step. NO -Replace the engine mount control unit (see «ENGINE MOUNT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT»(ref-360085-S19041323442010042600000) ), then go to next step.
  28. Reconnect all connectors.
  29. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  30. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).
  31. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  32. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15B0 and/or P15C0 Indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
  33. Reconnect all connectors.
  34. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-360080-S11980508702010042600000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) ).
  35. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P15B0 and/or P15C0 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substituted a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) ), and retest. If the PCM was substituted and the symptom indicated goes away, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S27881728262010042600000) ). NO -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S27881728262010042600000) ).   12. Disconnect PCM connector A (49P).
  13. Check for continuity between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 10 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire between connector terminal engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 10 and PCM connector terminal A15, then go to step 16 . NO -Go to step 14.
  14. Connect engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 10 to body ground with a jumper wire.
  15. Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal A15 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the engine mount control unit and the PCM. If it is OK, go to step 21 . NO -Repair an open in the wire between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 10 and PCM connector terminal A15, then go to step 16.
  16. Reconnect all connectors.
  17. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  18. Clear the DTC with the HDS (see «HDS CLEAR COMMAND»(ref-360085-S06877338822010042600000) ).

  11. Connect CMP sensor 3P connector terminal No. 3 to body ground with a jumper wire.
  12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  13. Measure the voltage between engine mount control unit 16P connector terminal No. 7 and body ground. Is there about 0 V?
