Charging System - Generators & Regulators (All Except Hatchback): Other Honda Civic VII

CHARGING CIRCUIT

If the charging system indicator does not illuminate or does not go off, or the battery is dead or low, test the following items in the order below.

1. Battery
2. Charging System Indicator
3. Alternator/Regulator Circuit
4. Alternator Control System

BRUSHES

Measure the length of both brushes with a vernier caliper. (Scheme 22) If either brush is shorter than the service limit, replace the rear housing assembly. If brush length is OK, go to ROTOR SLIP RING.

ROTOR SLIP RING

1. Check that there is continuity between the slip rings. If there is continuity, go to next step. If there is no continuity, replace the rotor assembly. (Scheme 23)
2. Check that there is no continuity between each slip ring and the rotor and the rotor shaft. If there is no continuity, replace the rear housing assembly and go to «ALTERNATOR»(ref-153318-S18687753452004060900000) reassembly under OVERHAUL. If there is continuity, replace the rotor assembly.
