Reassembly & Installation: Overview Honda Civic V

  1. Lubricate rocker arms and install on shaft in original location. Ensure No. 1 piston is still at TDC of compression stoke. Lubricate camshaft lobes. Loosen rocker arm lock nuts before installing rocker arm assembly.
  2. Install rocker arm shaft assemblies in original location. Loosely install retaining bolts. Using a crisscross pattern, start with inner nuts and tighten in 2 steps to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-48874-S33521900782001011500000) . Ensure rocker arms DO NOT bind on valves during tightening procedure.
  3. Adjust valves. See «VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-48874-S42545771102001011500000) . Before installing valve cover gasket, apply non-hardening sealant to rounded surfaces of front and rear camshaft caps. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
