Removal & Installation: Overview Honda Civic II

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain Cooling system. Disconnect air intake duct and chamber. Cover fuel filter with shop towel and relieve fuel system pressure by slowly loosening service bolt. (Схема №1)
  2. Label and disconnect all necessary electrical wiring, vacuum lines, coolant hoses, control cables and fuel lines. Disconnect fuel return hose from pressure regulator. Disconnect throttle cable (A/T) and air jet controller hoses (if equipped).
  3. Remove drive belts. Remove air conditioning idler pulley and bracket. Remove power steering pump bracket. Remove intake manifold bracket. Remove exhaust manifold bracket, header pipe, shroud and exhaust manifold.
  4. Remove distributor, valve cover and upper timing belt cover. Rotate engine until No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of compression stroke. Timing mark on timing belt cover and crankshaft pulley should be aligned. (Схема №4)
  5. Remove timing belt from camshaft pulley. See TIMING BELT. Loosen cylinder head bolts in 1/3 turn increments, repeating sequence until all bolts are loose. Ensure all brackets are disconnected from intake and exhaust manifolds. Remove cylinder. Remove intake manifold from cylinder head if necessary.
