(1) Tighten nut to 20 ft. lbs. (27 N.m). On VIN W engine, tighten an additional 70 degrees. m). On VIN Z engine, tighten an additional 70 degrees. (2) Apply GM(R) Sealant (1052080) to head bolt threads. Tighten bolts in sequence. (Scheme 10) (3) Tighten bolts in sequence. see scheme 3 (4) This tightening specification has been revised due to Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 92-313-6E, dated October 9, 1992. Tighten bolts/studs to 88 INCH lbs. (10 N.m) in sequence. see scheme 4 (5) Tighten bolts to specification in sequence. see scheme 6 Repeat tightening sequence. (6) Tighten bolts to specification in sequence. see scheme 7 (7) Tighten from the two middle bolts outward on each side.
