Wiper/washer Systems 5 illustrations ~1747 words

DESCRIPTION

The 2 wiper/washer systems available on "S" & "T" Series include a base system and an optional system. Base system uses a low, high, and mist mode. In addition to a low, high and mist mode, the optional system uses a pulse mode. It has an additional integrated circuit board to control pulse function, as well as a rheostat (built into the switch) to control the rate of pulse.

Wiper Inoperative

  1. Check wiper fuse at box, and replace if necessary. If fuse is okay, connect voltmeter between terminal No. 93 (White wire) of connector C340 and ground. (Scheme 1)or (Scheme 2). Turn ignition to ACCY position. If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit in White wire. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  2. With ignition on, turn wiper switch to LO. Connect voltmeter between terminal No. 91 (Gray wire) of connector C340 and ground. Turn wiper switch to HI. Connect voltmeter between terminal No. 92 (Purple wire) of connector C340 and ground. If battery voltage is not present at both terminals, replace wiper/washer switch. If battery voltage is present at both terminals, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect wiper motor wiring harness connector (C155). Connect fused jumper wire between terminal No. 91 (Gray wire) and battery positive terminal. If wipers operate, repair open circuit in White and/or Purple wire. If wipers do not operate, repair or replace wiper motor.
