Programming and Setup - All Systems: Removal & Installation GMC Envoy II

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement

If the body control module (BCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order

  1. BCM Reprogramming - Refer to «Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration»(ref-200358-S13852189582005102000000) in Computer/Integrating Systems.
  2. Theft Learn - Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-200381-S13335025902005102000000) in Theft Deterrent. A new BCM will learn the Passlock™ information automatically but the powertrain control module (PCM) must still learn the theft information from the BCM.
  3. Relearn Restraints ID - Refer to «Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration»(ref-200358-S13852189582005102000000) in Computer/Integrating Systems.

Passlock™ Sensor Replacement

If the Passlock™ Sensor is replaced perform the theft learn procedure. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent.

Communication Interface Module Replacement

If the OnStar® communication interface module is replaced, the setup procedure needs to be performed. Please refer to OnStar Reconfiguration (Gen 6) or OnStar Reconfiguration (Gen 6.1) in Cellular Communication.

Radio Replacement

If the digital radio receiver is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Perform the digital radio receiver setup. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup in Entertainment.

ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The ECM Reprogramming - Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-200369-S11529819792005102000000) .
  2. The CKP Variation Learn - Refer to «CKP System Variation Learn Procedure»(ref-200373-S12760983622005102000000) in Engine Controls - 5.3L.
  3. The Theft Deterrent Programming - Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-200381-S13335025902005102000000) in Theft Deterrent.

Setup for Component Replacement

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in Engine Controls - 5.3L.

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the HVAC control module is replaced, an automatic re-calibration of all the actuators will occur. No additional procedures are necessary.

Actuator Replacement

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

  1. Re-Calibrating Actuators - Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-200404-S41170959672005102000000) in HVAC Systems - Manual.
  2. Re-Calibrating Actuators - Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-200411-S34523441332005102000000) or «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Auxiliary HVAC)»(ref-200411-S27886266472005102000000) in HVAC Systems - Automatic.

Auxiliary HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the auxiliary HVAC control module is replaced no additional procedures are necessary.

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

  1. Re-Calibrating Actuators - Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-200411-S34523441332005102000000) or «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Auxiliary HVAC)»(ref-200411-S27886266472005102000000) in HVAC Systems - Automatic.
  2. Re-Calibrating Actuators - Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-200404-S41170959672005102000000) in HVAC Systems - Manual.

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement

If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. The PCM reprogramming - Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-200369-S11529819792005102000000) .
  2. The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn - Refer to «CKP System Variation Learn Procedure»(ref-200372-S14520124782005102000000) in Engine Controls - 4.2L (LL8).

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, a crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure must be performed. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in Engine Controls - 4.2L (LL8).

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

If the radio is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Reprogram the radio. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

Theft Deterrent Control Module Replacement

If the theft deterrent control module is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. Set Up a New Theft Deterrent Control Module - Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-200384-S28312852432005102000000) in Theft Deterrent - Immobilizer.
  2. 10-Minute Relearn Procedure - Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-200384-S28312852432005102000000) in Theft Deterrent - Immobilizer.

Transfer Case Shift Control Module Replacement

If the transfer case shift control module is replaced, the transfer case shift control module reprogramming procedure must be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement

If the transmission control module (TCM) is replaced, TCM Reprogramming must be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
