Fuel Tank Draining Procedure (5.3L - L59 Engine)

- Loosen the fuel fill cap in order to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-197364-S02039416942005101100000) in General Information.
- Loosen the fuel tank fill pipe clamp (3) at the fuel tank.
- Remove the fuel tank fill pipe.
- Remove the flame arrester screen from the tank opening.
- Insert a hose into the fuel tank opening.
- Using a hand or air operated pumping device, drain as much fuel from the tank as possible.
