Wiper/washer System: Removal & Installation Geo Tracker I

Removal

Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. (Scheme 1) Remove lower dash panel trim cover. Locate and disconnect combination switch harness connectors behind dash panel, near steering column. Remove combination switch and harness assembly from column. (Scheme 2)

Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure all electrical connections are tight. Check canceling operation of turn signal switch. Check headlight and dimmer switches operation.

Removal & Installation

Unplug electrical connector from motor. Remove mounting bolts holding wiper motor support plate to firewall. Carefully pry front wiper linkage from wiper motor crank arm. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Note. Front wiper motor crank arm is not serviced separately. DO NOT disconnect arm from front wiper motor. Crank arm is positioned on wiper motor to allow front wiper arms to return to their normal park position.

Remove lower steering column cover panel. Disengage switch locking tabs and push switch outward through panel. Disconnect electrical connector from switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Remove spare tire. Remove wiper blade/arm assembly and spacers. Remove rear door interior trim panel. Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Remove motor mounting bolts. To install, reverse removal procedure.
