PRELIMINARY CHECKS

Ensure GAUGE fuse and accessory fusible link are good. Ensure ground connection G200 (located behind left kick panel) is clean and tight. Ensure audio alarm module is securely mounted in junction block No. 1 (located at lower shroud behind left kick panel). Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminals.

Note. Some components incorporate a short harness between component and connector. Wire color may be different from that used in main harness. Both wire colors are noted. Example: Red wire (Green wire after connector).

Scheme 2: POWER WINDOW SYSTEM INOPERATIVE

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe power window master switch connector terminals No. 7 and 8 (Black wires at both terminals). (Scheme 2) If test light does not come on at both terminals or only comes on at one terminal, go to step 4). If test light comes on at both terminals, go to next step.
  2. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe power window master switch connector terminals No. 1 and 2 (White/Black wire on both terminals). (Scheme 2) If test light comes on at both terminals, replace power window master switch.
  3. If test light comes on at only one terminal, repair open in White/Black wire between terminal that did not come and splice S503 (located at left front door harness near power window master switch). If test light does not come on at either terminal, repair open in White/Black wire between splices S503 and S240 (located at instrument panel harness near accessory power relay).
  4. If test light does not come on at either terminal, go to next step. If test light comes on at only one terminal, repair open in Black wire between terminal that did not come on and splice S502 (located at left front door harness near power door lock actuator).
  5. Using a test light, probe power accessory relay connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, repair open in Black wire between accessory power relay and splice S502.
  6. Using a test light, probe power accessory relay connector terminal No. 1 (White/Red wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in White/Red wire between accessory power relay and junction block No. 1. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace junction block No. 1.
  7. Probe accessory power relay connector terminal No. 3 (Red/Blue wire). If test light comes on, go to step 9). If test light does not come on, connect a DVOM between audio alarm module connector terminal No. 9 (Red/Blue wire) and ground and check voltage. Refer to Fig. (Scheme 3). If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace audio alarm module and retest system. If system remains inoperative, replace junction block No. 1.
  8. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, check for open in Red/Blue wire between audio alarm module and junction block No. 3. Check for open in Red/Blue wire between junction block No. 3 and power accessory relay. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace junction block No. 3.
  9. Connect test light from battery voltage to accessory power relay terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire). If test light comes on, replace accessory power relay. If test light comes on, check for open in White/Black wire between accessory power relay and junction connector No. 1. Check for open in White/Black wire between junction connector No. 1 and ground connector G200 (located behind left kick panel). Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace junction connector No. 1.

LF WINDOW DOES NOT OPEN

  1. Turn ignition on. Using test light, probe left front motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). Depress and hold left front window control on power window master switch. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Red wire (Green wire after connector) between power window master switch and left front power window motor. If wire is okay, replace master window switch.
  2. Ensure left front power window switch is released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe left front power window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). If test light comes on, replace motor. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between power window master switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

LF WINDOW DOES NOT CLOSE

  1. Turn ignition on. Pull up and hold left front power window switch. Using a test light, probe left front power window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between power window master switch and left front power window motor. If wire is okay, replace window switch.
  2. Ensure power window switch is released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe left front power window motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If test light comes on, replace motor. If test light does not come on, check for open in Yellow wire (Green wire after connector) between power window master switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

Scheme 4

Scheme 4: RF WINDOW DOESN'T OPEN W/MASTER OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR SWITCH
  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe right front power window switch (located in right front door) terminal No. 2 (Blue/White wire). (Scheme 4) Depress right front power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, Check for open in Blue/White wire between right front power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe right front power window motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). (Scheme 4) Depress right front power window switch in master switch. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Red wire (Green wire after connector) between right front power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace right front power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition to lock and unplug right front power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). (Scheme 4) If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace right front power window motor.
  4. Ensure right front and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe right front power window switch connector terminal No. 5 (Green/Red wire). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between right front power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, right front power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Green/Red wire between power window master switch and right front power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

RF WINDOW DOESN'T CLOSE W/MASTER OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR SWITCH

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe right front power window switch (located in right front door) terminal No. 5 (Green/Red wire). (Scheme 4) Pull right front power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, Check for open in Green/Red wire between right front power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe right front power window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). Pull right front power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between right front power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace right front power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition off and unplug right front power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace right front power window motor.
  4. Ensure right front and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe right front power window switch connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/White wire). (Scheme 4) If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between right front power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, right front power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Blue/White wire between power window master switch and right front power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

Scheme 5

Scheme 5: LR WINDOW DOES NOT OPEN WITH MASTER OR LEFT REAR DOOR SWITCH
  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe left rear power window switch (located in left rear door) terminal No. 2 (Blue/Black wire). (Scheme 5) Depress left rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to DOWN position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Blue/Black wire between left rear power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe left rear power window motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). Depress left rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to DOWN position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Red wire (Green wire after connector) between left rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace left rear power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition to lock and unplug left rear power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace left rear power window motor.
  4. Ensure left rear and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe left rear power window switch connector terminal No. 4 (Red/Green wire). (Scheme 5) If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between left rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace left rear power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Red/Green wire between power window master switch and left rear power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

LR WINDOW DOES NOT CLOSE WITH MASTER OR LEFT REAR DOOR SWITCH

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe left rear power window switch (located in left rear door) terminal No. 4 (Red/Green wire). (Scheme 5) Pull left rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, Check for open in Red/Green wire between left rear power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe left rear power window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). Pull left rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between left rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace left rear power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition to lock and unplug left rear power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace left rear power window motor.
  4. Ensure left rear and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe left rear power window switch connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/Black wire). (Scheme 5) If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between left rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, left rear power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Blue/Black wire between power window master switch and left rear power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

RR WINDOW DOES NOT OPEN WITH MASTER OR RIGHT REAR DOOR SWITCH

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe right rear power window switch (located in right rear door) terminal No. 2 (Yellow wire). (Scheme 5) Depress right rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to DOWN position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Yellow wire between right rear power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe right rear power window motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). Depress right rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to DOWN position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire (Red wire after connector) between right rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace right rear power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition to lock and unplug right rear power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace right rear power window motor.
  4. Ensure right rear and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe right rear power window switch connector terminal No. 4 (Red/Black wire). (Scheme 5) If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between right rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, right rear power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Red/Black wire between power window master switch and right rear power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.

RR WINDOW DOES NOT CLOSE W/MASTER OR RIGHT REAR DOOR SWITCH

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe right rear power window switch (located in right rear door) terminal No. 4 (Red/Black wire). (Scheme 5) Pull right rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Red/Black wire between right rear power window switch and master switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
  2. Probe right rear power window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). Pull right rear power window switch in power window master switch (located in driver's door) to UP position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in wiring between right rear power window switch and motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace right rear power window switch.
  3. Turn ignition to lock and unplug right rear power window motor connector. Connect test light to battery voltage and probe motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire; Green wire after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace right rear power window motor.
  4. Ensure right rear and master power window switches are released. Connect test light to battery voltage. Probe motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire; Yellow wire after connector). If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for open in Red wire (Green wire after connector) between right rear power window motor and switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace right rear power window switch.
  5. Check for open in Green wire (Yellow wire after connector) between power window master switch and right rear power window switch. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is good, replace power window master switch.
