Installation

Note. Prior to drive belt installation, lubricate track using lubricant E7FZ-18580-A or equivalent.

Scheme 11: Removal
  1. Remove rear seat and rear seat back. Remove the A-pillar trim and quarter panel trim. Remove the vertical guide-to-quarter panel lower sheet metal retaining screw. Separate lower guide from the motor guide. (Scheme 11)
  2. Disconnect the drive belt motor harness connector. (Scheme 11) Remove 2 motor-to-inner quarter panel bolts. Separate the vertical guide from the motor guide.
  3. Rotate the thumb wheel on the motor counterclockwise to disengage the drive belt from the motor drive gear. Remove motor and bracket assembly.

To install reverse removal procedure.

Removal

Remove limit switch harness connectors. Remove Torx bolt. Move spacer down to allow switch removal. see scheme 9and (Scheme 12).

To install reverse removal procedure.

  1. Cycle shoulder belt to full forward position at the A-Pillar. Disconnect shoulder belt from mini buckle. Remove rear seat and rear seat back. Remove the A-pillar trim and quarter panel trim.
  2. Disconnect A-pillar limit switch and drive belt motor harness connectors. see scheme 11 Remove 2 vertical belt guide-to-quarter inner panel attaching bolts. see scheme 12
  3. Remove 3 Lower belt guide-to-inner quarter panel attaching bolts. Remove 2 motor assembly retaining bolts. Remove the vertical belt guide from the B-pillar bracket.
  4. Remove 2 track assembly-to-B-pillar retaining bolts. Remove A-pillar limit switch bracket-to-A-pillar attaching screws.
  5. While securely holding the track assembly, remove 2 track assembly-to-roof rail attaching bolts. Rotate the rear of the track assembly downward to disengage the A-pillar limit switch from the A-pillar and remove track and motor assembly.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove the left trunk inner trim panel. Disengage 2 cover assembly retaining push pins. See. Fig. (Scheme 13). Remove cover. Unsnap the module from the mounting bracket. Disconnect module harness connector.

To install reverse removal procedure.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove the left trunk inner trim panel. Disengage 2 cover assembly retaining push pins. Remove cover. See. Fig. (Scheme 13). Unsnap the inertia switch from the mounting bracket. Disconnect inertia switch harness connector.
