REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove splash shield. Remove starter solenoid terminal cover. Disconnect wiring from starter solenoid. On 3.0L (4V) motor, remove ground strap nut and position ground strap aside. On all motors, Remove starter bolts and remove starter. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
