REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
Removal & Installation (Front)
Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove front door trim panel screws. (Scheme 3) Release door trim panel 2 part pin-type retainers, first pull outward on the bottom of the door trim panel. Remove front door trim panel. Disconnect electrical connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Remove driver's side door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL . Depress retaining clips on switch housing. Push base of switch out of door panel. Disconnect power mirror control switch harness connector. Remove switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Remove door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL . Remove mirror mounting hole cover or speaker grille and speaker (if equipped). Disconnect mirror harness connector. Remove mirror attaching nuts. Push down on mirror assembly to release mirror flange. Push mirror assembly down and rearward to remove. Guide wiring and harness connector through hole in door. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts to 62 INCH lbs. (7 N.m).
Point mirror glass as far inward as possible to allow clearance between glass and mirror housing at outer edge of mirror. Insert fingers into clearance, and pull mirror glass. If fingers will not fit between glass and housing, use a screwdriver and cloth to pry mirror glass out. Glass will snap out without being damaged. Disconnect heater wires (if equipped). Remove motor attaching screws. Disconnect motor harness connector, and remove motor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mirror motor screws to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m). Ensure mirror glass locking tabs align before snapping in glass.
