Note. The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct restraint control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
Note. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
All seats
- Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to «Seat - Front»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/seats/#seat-system__seat-front) .
- Remove the front seat backrest. For additional information, refer to «Seat Backrest - Front»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/seats/#seat-system__seat-backrest-front) .
- Remove the seat track. For additional information, refer to «Seat Track - Front»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/seats/#seat-system__seat-track-front) .
- Disconnect the power recliner motor electrical connector.
- Drive out the 2 large roll pins.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the power recliner assembly. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Drive out the 2 large roll pins and remove the manual recliner.
- If equipped, remove the 2 rivets, disconnect the 4 connectors and remove the driver seat module.
- Remove the seat wire harness.
- Remove the hog rings and the cushion trim cover from the cushion foam pad.
- To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
- Install the seat. For additional information, refer to «Seat - Front»(/ford/taurus-x/i-2007-2009/remont/seats/#seat-system__seat-front) . If a new seat track has been installed on a driver seat with memory, the seat must be operated in all directions through the full range of travel to avoid a premature stopping point occurrence after the vehicle is returned to the customer.
