Scheme 174
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-268774) article.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING»(ref-268732) article.
- Remove the bolt and the snow shield.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable, speed control cable and the return spring.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable and speed control cable from the accelerator bracket.
- Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connectors. Disconnect the wire retainer.
- Disconnect the engine vacuum harness-to-vacuum reservoir hose connection.
- Disconnect the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube from the EGR valve. To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the fuel vapor hose from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid electrical connector.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve tube.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube bracket nut and position the tube and bracket out of the way. To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
- Remove the nut and the upper intake manifold brace. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Remove the bolts, the stud bolt and the upper intake manifold. Remove and discard the gaskets. Clean and inspect all mating surfaces.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
